Abuse potential of Mydocalm (Tolperisone)

I have a 16 year old son who was recently prescribed the drug "Mydocalm". I am worried because I was told it is a muscle relaxant. My son has a known drug problem and I am worried he will try to abuse this medication. Is there a potential for abuse? any information would be helpfull. Thanks,
