Hi! Please, can somebody tell me something about his/her own experience about using medicaments for treating fever blisters? I have really painful fever blisters and I'm using Denavir (penciclovir topical) and it helps a little, but still I'm not satisfied. Maybe I need to take acyclovir orally? What do you think, acyclovir orally or Denavir (topically) for fever blisters? Thanks!

If cream can't help you, maybe you really need to start to take medicaments orally. And acyclovir is a good choice. A single 800-mg dose of acyclovir taken by mouth may prevent the fever blisters from erupting. Acyclovir tabs speed the healing time, but you first have to go to see your doctor. This medicament is usually restricted for use in severe cases.
