I've been dealing with Chronic Pain, Fibromyalgia, C5C6 replacement, caging and fusion. I also have tendinitis, arthritis, and bursitis bi-laterally in shoulders. Bi-lateral sciatica, and arthritis in both hips.
I tried every treatment and medication that the doctors threw my way for 10 years. All to find NO RELIEF. I have NEVER been offered narcotic or opioid pain medication because of the OPIOID CRISIS. I was disabled in 2019 from a 27+ year nursing career at 48 years old. Now my choices are shoulder replacement, nerve cortorization, or an internal pain pump placement. Needless to say, I'm not at all happy with these choices.
I would really rather have a small dose of pain medication 2X's a day, than have surgery, cortorization, or a pain pump placed in my abdomen that could at anytime give me an overdose if the pump does it's own thing.
I have noticed that the Vyvanse and Aderall at times does make the pain more bearable, but how long before that gets taken away too??? Pain management should be controlled with pain medication. If there is no history of abuse in the patients background, give them the medication that was CREATED FOR PAIN, and not a bunch of beurocratic lies and lip service!!!
