I'm in a situation close to what u are going thru, no bipolar but severe depression and anxiety disorder. I've tried every anti depressant n a few anti anxiety meds with no luck! I actually do have ADHD pretty bad as well. I used to be prescribed adderal yrs ago n went to my doctor today to ask him if I could go back on it, my doc is really cool n I told him I've been takin addy the last couple weeks that my sister gave me n how great it's been helpin me, I don't know how cool ur doc is but I would say u have tried them recently n they really helped u out with ur depression n anxiety. Or at least ask if u could try it on a temp basis or see if the doc has samples. Good luck!!

I have been on at least 10 different antidepressants and none of them helped! Finally my dr put me on adderall and I'm great!! It makes me feel normal. No more depression or anxiety. I am 46 years old. Wish I could have got this medicine back when I was 20. My life would have been so much better. It just makes me feel calm

Exact same boat! If you have to reread A paragraph because of depressed thoughts are distracting you- Sounds like ADD to me! I was fretting about stupid c**p that didn't exist! And I didn't realize that it could be a form of ADD. With adderal, no BS emo c**p, much less depression!

I'm still in denial about ADD, but I had to take a test to show that I was before the doctor would prescribe it. Thank goodness it runs in my family.

Sometimes I try to go without or vary my intake, because really no one is going to tell me what to do! And besides, sometimes I forget. (Not a very addicted person).

But beware that it does increase sensitivity to allergies. And as a chick you will need more when you are pmsy. It just doesn't work as effectively during that time.

I totally agree with Adderall helps my anxiety. I'm able to focus and not go in circles.

I also have used it to help me during particularly stressful jobs (it's been gifted to me in small quantities from time to time, so I only sparingly use it for high stakes work) it prevents a me from thinking in 1000 directions, quells my anxiety attacks, and depression-- if I have too many things on my plate, I can only think of all of them at once, and nothing gets done and everything falls apart and depression sets in. Taking addaral allowed me to calm down, and one by one knock everything off the plate. I really wish I could get a scrip for my daily life, I might be able to hold a job for more then a few months.

I have taken the ADHD.. qizzie at most of my doctors for a long time and every quiz I've taken for them said that I was ADHD and not 1 doctor said anything to me .. I am bipolar and every thing else... And today I had a doctor appointment and I'm glad to say my doctor I had for over 5 years now. Is putting me on adderall and he said it really should help me.. can't wait to to try them... I got a lot of issues mentally and I'm tired of living like this.. so my point is don't care about what the doctors will think if you don't bring it up they won't. And if they don't call a another 1 that will and don't give up.. it took me a long time to tell my doctor the truth about everything.. And he likes that I am blunt with him.... love my doc...

Adderall can interfere with your circulation, causing toes or fingers to feel numb or hurt. The skin on the toes and fingers may turn blue or red. Stimulants can make your blood vessels constrict, raise your blood pressure, and make your heart beat faster. Serious side effects include heart attack and stroke.

The problem with using Adderall for anxiety is that once its effect goes away, you are bound to feel more anxious and disillusioned than before. It sucks.

I see that your post was written quite awhile ago but I wanted to first of all hope that you are doing better now. After going through lots of quackery out there myself, I am hearing you say that Xanax is working. It appears that your diagnosis is consistent with DSM-5 anxiety symptoms. I am currently seeing someone that is treating me with Adderall for ADHD. I don't know that it would work for you or not. You mentioned Xanax. I hope you have found something that works. Maybe even some kind of mindfulness awareness training and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy? I am a student in a social work program trying to figure all of these things out on personal and professional level at the age of 52. Good luck in finding the right treatment!

I am dx with bipolar, PTSD, blah, blah and more. If I do not take Adderall in the morning I am a depressed mess, crying and panic attacks. It never makes me manic.
