Sometimes even if you do everything "right" it can all go wrong. I was prescribed by a physician, AMPHETAMINE SALTS (Adderall) 5mg. for ADD, I was told to take one twice a day but I took only one a day. After 4 days I have burn like lesions in my mouth and throat. My physician doesn't think the drug caused it this, although she didn't ask to see me, and says to take it again after my mouth heals. It has been 4 days since I stopped and I'm waiting for the mouth to heal. No way will I take it again.

I’ve taken Adderall for a very long time. I’m 23 years old, and I’ve been on Adderall since 2nd grade. Around 16-17 I quit taking it because of personal reasons but about a year ago I started it again to help me concentrate on my job. When I was in 2nd grade, I had no side effects, now that’s I’m older I get all kinds. Just to name a few, mouth soreness/rawness, headaches (once in a while), staying awake for 72 hours (happened once), I smoke more when I’m on Adderall (2-3 packs more), dry mouth, dry throat, coughing, clearing my throat, biting my mouth without realizing it. I NEVER had these side effects when I was younger, I’m not really sure why I have them now but I want to think my mouth soreness/rawness, and dry mouth/throat is caused by the amount of cigarettes I smoke while on the medication. Does anybody else here smoke? I’m wondering if it’s common with people that smoke.
