I was bulimic for 25 years when having been treated for ADD I was put on a very low dose of Adderall - My bulimia VIRTUALLY DISAPPEARED OVERNIGHT! I was on the same low dose for 15 years but when I moved 300 miles north I was unable to find a doctor who would prescribe it for me and within weeks of going off my medicine MY BULIMIA RETURNED and sadly I suffer to this day.

I don't think that you realize that adderall is more than an appetite suppressor. Which quite a few drugs are actually. Phentermine is actually a great one and is prescribed for exactly the reason.

Vyvanse (similar to adderall) was approved for bulimia & binge disorders.

Hands down works for me at age 46 and I am a 30 year sufferer. Unreal how amazing it is and works for bulimia.

I am prescribed it and after 30 years of bulimia it worked unreal. I mean unreal that I stopped after 30 years. Bulimia becomes like a ritual which is curbed by afferral, tried vivance too and works as well but adderral will stop it dead in its tracks. Both work and will changer your life if you suffer from bulimia.

I am a recovered bulimic mostly. You sound like you are about ready to die from heart complications. I tried adderall illegally and yes I felt normal. But adderall is a horrible drug. It comes with a price and surely if you're still purging, the combination will kill you. Weed actually cured me 20 years ago. But it was different than this synthetic stuff which makes me hungry. It was relaxing but only a short term fix. After I got far away from the binge purge habit, I had to quit the pot too. It made me lazy.

Thank you all for all your positive comments about adderall. i have been bulimic for 42 years and have tried everything to get something to help me. Topomax just made me eat less and antidepressants did not work because i am truly not depressed. i am going to ask my psychiatrist about this drug. i want to stop so badly but cannot do it cold turkey unless i completely stop eating.

Hi lovely! I have been struggling with bulimia for upwards for 4 years now and I'm 19. It started as an experiment to lose weight and then became a habit to releive stress. I've recently been put on 15 mg adderall and it's changed my life. It stops the cravings and stress triggers and allows me to decide what nutritious foods to put in my body. I now feel like I have a choice against the demon that drove my eating disorder. I know this may not be for everyone, but it may have saved my life. The scars in my throat and hands can finally heal, and my heart arrhythmias have began to regulate again. Talk to your doctor. There are new studies on the DAT gene that is present in ADHD and Bulimia and how maybe this has really been an impulse disorder wrongly labeled all this time.
