I have been allergic to chicken for about 2 years now and just recently became allergic to turkey. The symptoms are my whole body itches from the inside out. I don't break out into hives or anything but this itch is enough to bother me to no end. I am so glad I found this site and seen that a lot of people have allergic reactions to the same thing. I was thinking it was hereditary cause my aunt and 2 of my uncles are allergic as well. Is there a cure or something that is taken to relieve this problem so I am able to eat them again. My mom and my husband thought I was crazy but I'm not making this up it is miserable and I love chicken and turkey. I can eat eggs that are scrambled or over medium but hard boiled eggs sit hard in my stomach like it doesn't digest correctly please help me.

My friend is the same way. What she did was that her family bought real chickens, and she spent all day with them for 3 days. It worked and now she can eat chicken again.

I have had the same thing for about 10 years. I take claritin when I know I'm going to eat chicken, but it doesn't always help. When I feel this itchy I just try to drink a lot of water and in about an hour it goes away. I wondered for years if it was the hormones u hear about them putting in chickens, but I have tried organic, and then a wild little chicken that had no homones....still itchy!!! I have only meet one other person who has had this and we are not related. My hands and face get so itchy and warm. I will sit and wonder forever what causes this besides an allergic reaction. I sometimes feel this way when I eat ham or tuna. I think it has something with the amont and how its cooked. I baked chicken tonight and am dying!! After bbqing all summer and not feeling this bad....I would see for ur self if its the way it is cooked. I am with others on this blog. Going out to eat can be a challege. :(
