I had a colonoscopy and they said I had colon polyps and An anul fissure. The anal fissure is what causes the leaking and it's caused basically by taking a big sh*t and it rips open. The doctor put me on Metamucil and stool softeners to repair Anal fissure. This may not NE your problem but it's what was wrong with me.

I feel relieved that other men have this frequent wetness in the anal cleft (medical for ass crack) and anal/rectal discharge. First, It seems like there are two conditions, so I want to point out a distinction that might be recognizable to some of you...I have been managing this since I was a kid. (BTW, I haven't worn white underwear since I was a teen.) Happy to read everyone is showering and changing underwear often. A little soap in the crack of your ass during every shower won't hurt, either.

Here's three ways to not let it rule your life.

First, my discharge is not really too sweaty...it's slippery mucous that you can feel...mostly after a nice dump, walking around or exercise. I mean, sure, there's that wet stripe in the back of your underwear, but that evaporates You need the mucous as lubrication to pass turds; everyone has an ideal amount.

Secondly, manage it...every other urination might involve a "sit down" to wipe the anus well, especially after a hot day, exercise or other activity. It's "swamp ass"...it's not jail, like a wheelchair or insulin. Practice good hygiene. If you can afford it, change underwear after work or activity to stay dry and less fragrant.

Finally, the leakage responds to what you eat and drink. Stay away from sugar and artificial sweeteners, fast food. Making fried foods and red meat the occasional treats instead of the main part of your diet make a huge difference. Why? Some part of this condition comes from ingested fat and complex carbohydrates your gut can't absorb. It just drips out if there's too much for one day. The biggest change for my swamp ass...the regular addition of yogurt. Not that Yoplait c**p...it's loaded with sweeteners and chemicals. Greek or regular yogurt with real fruit, nuts or granola. The good bacteria (probiotics) of yogurt helps keep my gut happy, so it doesn't drip with excess oil/mucous. Find out what your trigger foods are.

Best of luck.

Well, well, well, there I was thinking I was the only chapmin the world with this little problem. I have found that a good dose of vaseline or similar prior to a BM helps tremendously, let it become part of your toilet ritual. it prevents the itching as when you wipe it is not on the skin but rather on the vaseline. Also shower in the mornings and then put a good spread of baby bum paste there, Fissan or something similar. It controls the itch, the sweat and allows you to continue as if it is not even there.

I'll separate this into 2 types based on everyone's replies:

Type 1: The sweat/mucus is present throughout the day during normal, daily activities

Type 2: The sweat/mucus is present only during and/or after sex or masturbation.

I'm personally a type 2.

I've dealt with this issue for a little while and I can tell that one of the causes is excess sexual activity including masturbation. I tend to do a lot of both. I one day realized that during sex, my prostate area would get pretty WARM. Masturbation as well. I tried to stop completely for a few days and then started up again. It didn't COMPLETELY fix the issue, but it was a noticeable difference. So, I decided to stop doing it for about a month straight. Zero sex or masturbation and it seems like this is the cause! I believe it has something to do with the prostate being overworked, because I went back to my old habits and it came back. Lol.I hope this helps.

I was also considering over the counter Probiotic pills, my first thought was some type of bacteria along my digestive track allowing for mucus to seep through the anus. Hope it works, if not then i'll try the enema.

I have the same problem like any other male. After I have finished showering. I have to use Gold Bond by applying it inside my underwear. It is normal to sweat.

If proper hygiene, there can be an issue to an overactive anal gland.  The anal gland can produce an oily yellowish liquid that is VERY pungent. You will smell the strong stink in the wet spot in your underwear. There isn't a cure for overactive anal gland. Cleaning with paper may not do, you may need a wet wipe for better cleaning. Common in people that set for long periods of time.

I've tried general physicians, colonoscopy, colon cleansers, colonics, fiber, probiotics, diet, hygiene and baby powder...nothing works. I get weird looks on airplanes and hear the words "smells" alot while in public. Some of my co-workers have also complained and/or make weird faces when near me.

I'm going to try soaking/bathing in epsome salts, an epsome salt enema, and gold bond to see if it works. I've also ordered some very expensive, activated charcoal underwear called shreddies that are proven to solve the stink problem but does not address the root cause. There are also much cheaper activated charcoal pads much like panty liners on the maket. Good luck. So nice to see I'm not alone with this problem and that I didn't do anything wrong to deserve this.

OK. I went to doctor and he said it's called Leaky Bogg Bottom - It's like a blister on your hand that fills with fluid and when it's opened or popped and the fluid runs out, it keeps running out. Using toilet tissue really irritates the area and the doc said to use cotton balls to wipe with. also, use underwwear liners to help discharges. I'll let you know how it works for me.
