Are third degree burns really that dangerous? My sister’s kid has sustained one and she is so worried that there might be some further complications with that wound. Are deformities often with a third degree burn? Will the kid be ok eventually? I would like to help, but I am not sure that I actually can…

Well, the most important thing is that the burn has been treated properly. As for those complications, I suppose that depends on the damage that has been done. In some cases, if the damage of the tissue is too serious, nerves might be damaged and that might cause the atrophy of the surrounding area and deformities eventually.
