I had arthrodesis of 2nd metatarsal joint with 4.0 cannulated screw and removal of two bone spurs and put in hard cast. Six weeks later graduated to air cast boot. At eight weeks graduated to walking 50% of weight with crutches. No pain. Two days later leg was very swollen and hard. At ten weeks walked full weight with air cast boot and discarded boot at twelve weeks. Leg still very swollen and darker color than other leg. I have had x-ray - normal, venous ultrasound to rule out DVT, venous insufficiency ultrasound all negative. I am scheduled for CT scan of abdomen and pelvic area to check lymph nodes to see if they are causing the swelling. Has anyone else had this problem? I used the knee scooter and loved it.
