Hello I have only just had my gallbladder removed a few days a go. Whilst still in recovery I noticed the pain in my back and remember telling the nurse I felt like I had apendicitus. That night I was in intense pain and I felt it was because of the drainage tube and begged them to remove it but they said of course they couldn't. When they did remove the tube the next day it seemed to be caught on something as the nurse gave it a tug to release it. With the tube out I thought that might be the end of the pain but I was wrong.
It's not there all the time but is the only pain I have. My incisions don't hurt . Nights are the worse as my back aches .
Can anyone enlighten me as to what this back pain is? thank you and take care

HELLO DAISYBEAR, MY DAUGHTER HAD A GALLBLADDER REMOVAL SURGERY ON NOVEMBER THE 2ND, 2011, AND SHE STILL HAS BACK PAIN TOO. I FEEL LIKE IF I WERE A HANDICAPED, BECAUSE SHE CRIES DUE TO THIS BACK PAIN AND IT'S HORRIBLE TO SEE HER. SHE WAS SLEEPING ALMOST SITTED AND THE DOCTOR SUGGESTED HER TO SLEEP AS COMMONLY PEOPLE DO. SHE IS TAKING PANADOL PM THIS NIGHT AND I GAVE AN 'ICY-HOT GEL' MASSAGE ON HER BACK.
SHE IS FEELING BETTER AND WENT TO SLEEP. I HOPE SHE CAN SLEEP TONIGHT AND ME TOO, BECAUSE RELATIVES WHO HELP THE PATIENTS ALSO FEEL VERY TIRED TOO (AFTER ASSISTING THEM).
TRY USING A MASSAGE CREAM FOR ATHLETES OR ICY-HOT. SOMETIMES SHE FEELS NAUSEA IF SHE LAYS DOWN ON HER BED AS SHE USED TO DO BEFORE.

My wife removed her gallbladder ten days ago. She is now suffering from pain in her back, and she does not sleep properly. What could it be done for this pain to go away?
