Hi all,

I hope that someone can advise me....

3 days ago my husband had a tonsillectomy and a uvulopalatoplasty (think thats right spelling), this was mainly to try and reduce or eliminate his loud snoring....however, since he has been home the snoring has been worse than it ever was, can anyone tell me if this is normal at this time?

Second thing is he has developed a horrible case of bad breath, again is this a normal symptom after this op?

Any help much appreciated...

THanks

No, it is not normal. He may have developed a mild infection that further obstructs his breathing, resulting in louder snoring and bad breath. Peppermint or spearmint sugarless chewing gum may be able to temporarily take his bad breath away. He will have to see a doctor soon to take care of the possible infection.
