Hi Wayne! Masterbation is a totally normal and healthy part of our overall sexual health! The ONLY time it can become a problem is if you hurt yourself while doing it! OR use something to help you and get an infection! So as long as you don't go TOO far, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it OK?

No, masturbation is not going to lead to impotency. It shouldn't affect your sex life with your partner unless she has a personal problem with the idea of masturbation. The only way it can hurt your sex life, really, is if you let it become an obsession. Like you would rather have a relationship with your right hand than a woman. That could be a problem. As long as you keep it in its place in your life you are ok. The side effect is release of tension. Sexual or otherwise. I find that even at my age it helps me sleep better.. You should be ok.
