Hello,
I have some birth control pills that expired a year ago, they are not even opened, I want to start taking them because I am going away for a week and dont want to have my period during this time, I will be unconfortable and dont want to have cramps during this time, i am just wondering if its safe to take them so I dont have my period while I am away, I am not taking bc pills because of getting pregnant I 0-had problems with my period before and just wanna know if its ok if i take them or not.
They are still in the package i got from the doctor but now that its a year later i dont have time to go to the doctor again and get new prescription.
Thank you in advance

Hi there, it doesn't matter if they're opened or not--expired medications mean that there could be enzymes or chemicals that have broken down and don't work. Don't ever take expired medications, as they can potentially be harmful. What can you do to get new pills?
