Bell’s palsy is caused by inflammation of facial nerve which controls facial expressions. Bell's palsy, with proper treatment, should normally disappear within a month. But, in order to prevent paralyzed muscles from shrinking and shortening which can cause them to permanently remain in fixed positions, it would be best, especially because its baby in question, to try and find a professional physical therapist who can teach you how to massage and exercise facial muscles to help prevent this from occurring. You should also try to protect the eye that won't close from getting injured or excessively dry, but you need to find eyedrops that are suitable for babies. Hope he recovers soon!
