My mother has some sudden problems with the face. She told me even last week that he feels tingling and numbness on right side of the face. Next morning hers right side of the face was paralyzed. It looks scary. After the examination doctor told her that it is bells palsy syndrome and that it is due to lyme disease that she had few years ago. Is it possible that lyme disease could provoke something like that after all that time?

Your mother probably is in, so called, stage three of the lyme disease. It means that symptoms of lyme disease can appear after weeks, months or even years after the initial bite. This disease is one of the main causes, beside herpes, for the Bell's palsy syndrome. Other symptoms may be joint pain, meningitis, cardiac involvement etc.
