i have been taking birth control for roughly 5 years now but always used a condom during sex anyway until about 6 months ago. ive never had any problems with the pill but i recently forgot one night and took 2 the next day not thinking anything about it. i took my last pill on a monday and didnt get any bleeding until saturday (3 days later than usual) and it only lasted about 24 hours. im scared that i screwed up the pill and my lack of a period could mean a possibly pregnancy! is this likely or am i just paranoid about my first irregular period? %-)

Even when you missed that one pill, you still did the right thing - took two the next day, as it is recommended, so even if you havent been so regular on the pill for all these years, you still would have been protected. But, birth control pills add extra hormones to your body and even this slight disruption in taking the could have caused this delay of bleeding, but in no way was there a chance that only that one missed pill started the ovulation again which is the necessary condition for you to be able to get pregnant.
