I too found this forum when searching for a reason for the bitter taste when i eat. I certainly started after eating a salad with pine nuts in it a week ago. I am in Australia. As people from several countries are reporting this happening on threads dating back to 2006 and up to current date of 2010, it seems to me more like an allergy some of us suffer to something in Pine Nuts, rather than a batch or brand thing.

Thank goodness for the internet. I have had this bitter, toxic kind of flavour at the back of my tongue whenever I eat for the last 2 days...I made some pesto with chinese pine nuts on the weekend. I thought I must have had infected sinuses even though I feel fine. Such a strange reaction..I hope it passes soon.

I am having this same taste in my mouth. Don't remember when the last time was I ate pine nuts, it may have been Tuesday and I noticed the taste after eating anything starting on Sunday night. However, the pine nuts that I did eat were much smaller than what I normally buy, so maybe they are the ones mentioned from China.
But I am blood type B positive, not O so if my symptoms are caused from the pine nuts, then it probably isn't linked to blood type.

Thanks - I ate quite a lot pine nuts in a salad at a wedding the weekend. The bitter taste started this morning! Still wonder why this happens ? My blood group is A -

I don't think blood type has any effect. I'm an A blood type and I just bought pine nuts at Trader Joes to make home made pesto. I've been eating them by the handfull this last week when I started noticing this awfull bitter taste in my mouth after ANYTHING I eat! I thought maybe I was getting sick, but no symptoms, then I thought what if somethings wrong with my digestion or teeth, so I googled bitter taste after eating and found this forum. I died laughing when I saw the "pine nuts" posts. I would have NEVER thought that had anything to do with it! LOL Just glad its an easy fix- but I'm bummed- I love pine nuts and never experienced this reaction before that I'm aware of anyway!

I am soooo happy to have found this blog. I too ate lots of pine nuts that were toaste from Trader Joes. I've eaten them before and never had this reaction. I haven't read all the posts but I'm wondering HOW LONG WILL IT LAST??? I'm on day 4 and it doesn't seem to be getting better. It's so weird how it gets better as long as I don't eat. Doesn't go away completely but it gets better. I also think my breath is really bad. (my poor clients)

I realize this is a very old thread, but I found it by Googling "bitter taste after eating" and couldn't believe so many people have the same thing!
My only disagreement with this topic is the blood-type connection. I am A positive, and I'm still having the bitterness.

I don't recall eating pine nuts but I have eaten walnuts which left me with this bitter taste and even water tasted bitter. It alal seems odd to me.

I have just stopped taking Krill Oil capsules after only 5 days of taking them I have a feeling of hot sick in my throat and it will not go away. This is now Thursday and I have had this going on since Tuesday and I felt awful nauseous as well but that has gone just the sick taste in my throat. It is driving me "Nuts"
