My mother is being treated for severe anemia right now. She has been complaining recently of the strong taste of nuts in her mouth. So much so that it makes her feel sick to her stomach. I took a nutrition class at one point and for some reason this is ringing some kind of bell. Is this related to any sort of nutritional deficiency? Any help would be appreciated.

B-12 deficiency can cause odd sensations (and probably taste) in the mouth/tongue.

Another possibility, has she eaten pine nuts recently? They can cause a bad taste that lingers for days if the nuts are old.
