I am 36, I had a tubal 6 yrs ago due to medical problems that made it unsafe for me to have anymore children. In June I had the D&c with thermal ablation to correct very heavy and long bleeding along with fibroids. I also have very large clots. I never actually stopped bleeding after the procedure and had my period the next month. I went to the Doc and he said to wait another month. Of course I just started bleeding again with my normal cramping. Is this normal? The Doctor said to call this month but wouldn't give me a straight answer on the next step. I am scared and worried and don't know what to do.

I to am 36, and I had a D&C with Thermal Ablation for the very heavy period I had for three months straight, and a lot of pain and discomfort in my back and vagina. The procedure worked for me, I no longer had bleeding at all! But it doesn't sound like yours did what it was suppose to do! with you having fibroids and still bleeding, I believe you should see another doctor, about possibly getting a partial Hysterectomy! Fibroids can lead to cancer and if their is any history of it in your family! then please do not wait to long to take care of it! Any bleeding for long periods of time can be dangerous and lead to Anemia! Always get a second opion if you feel like your not getting the results you want. I hope it all works out for you.

I am 41 years old and I too had a thermal ablation 2 years ago and I just started spotting off and on 2 weeks ago. I called my doctor office and the nurse said that this is normal. She said I could make an appointment for next week. If I stop spotting I can call and cancel or I can keep the appointment to see what the doctor thinks. I have no health problems that I know of. Is this normal?

I am 39 and had a hysteroscopy, d&c and thermal ablation all at the same time. I started bleeding march 22nd. I started birth control for the first time march 8th because out of nowhere my period started 2 weks early. Was fine, then march 22nd hit. Half of the bleeding between march 22nd and now has been heavy. I went for my 2 week post op visit may 25th and docotr told me to completely stop the birth control seasonique to see if ablation took. Well right after she examined me the bleeding got heavier and has been heavier since which i'm at just about three week post op. It looks like i'm back to having regular periods using a tampon and a pad like before for fear of an accident. I thought the bleeding would ber curbed and i would have spotting on and off but to keep bleeding with no relief in site and the doctor is making me wait 6 months before my next appointment. I wanted a hysterectomy in the first place but she never offered it and I believe the insurance wont cover it until an ablation and meds were tried. Well birth control never worked obviously and i'm concerned the ablation didn't either. Any suggestion would be great. Thanks.

I had my tubes tied and an endometrial ablation done 4 weeks ago (08/13/2010.) I have not stopped cramping since. Then yesterday, I started bleeding very heavily. I didn't expect, nor was I told to expect a "normal" period at my next cycle. I called the doctor and was told that there was nothing they could do except check my blood pressure & my hemoglobin. The nurse said if I thought I was bleeding that bad, I should go to the ER b/c there was nothing the doctor could do to stop the bleeding in the office. I do not want to go sit in the ER waiting room for 3 hours for them to tell me I have my period. My doctor also refuses to do a hysterectomy for at least 6 months, "to see if the ablation really works." I started my period when I was 10 years old. I am now almost 30. I have had my period for almost 20 years. They have always been heavy and last for at least 7-10 days. I always have strong cramping. Now I finally thought I'd found an end to this misery and it's just being prolonged. My OBGYN told me at my post op that I am probably clinically depressed (wouldn't you be too?) and she is referring me to a psychiatrist for treatment...THEN we'll deal with the bleeding, etc.

My Dr said this procedure wasn’t even an option if fibroids were present. Maybe ask questions about that.

I am new to posting.

I have my d & c and ablasion completed Dec 27, 2019 due to being on my cycle 55% of the month and bleeding heavily. I was so exicted to have it done. I joked about it being my Christmas Present because horrible cramps and extremely heavy periods 55% of the month for well over a year was exhausting and expensive (super plus tampons, over night pads, ruined sheets and undies). I felt like blood and cramps and clots were running my life and as a teacher your lucky to be able to use the restroom once a day and I needed hourly. So when I was told MOST women have 1 day of light spotting or no period after I was very hopeful......maybe too hopeful.... I started my 1st period 3 weeks ans 3 days after my ablasion still with post ablasion discharge too but it lasted 3 days very light but horrible cramps. Now 5 days early I start my 2nd period..... 1 day prior so dizzy...so dizzy I fell..... Day of atill dizzy horrivle cramps and pressurenand puky ill....had to undo pants because stomach bloated up so badly and the pressure of my pants was making it hirt worse..... Day 3... Heavier bleeding, dizzy, HORRIBLE cramps from waist down, so tired and nauseous....... I am so sad that I let self get so excited to be like my 4 other firends that had this and have had 0 periods since to having peiods still and all these other horrible syptoms.
