bleeding right after period, what could this be?

Hi, I just had my period last week and all was fine it seems. Actually I was expecting to be pregnant but had normal blood flow and pain for about 6 days so I took it to be a normal period. Last night, I felt cramps and pain as if I was about to get my period all over again! This morning I noticed there was blood all over my underwear, not just spotting but bright red also when I wiped myself in the bathroom! Has this happened to anyone and do you have any idea what this could be? My husband and I started trying for a baby again 2 days ago even though I know this is too soon but just saying as I don't know if this could have anything to do with it or if implantation could happen so soon. Is it possible I was pregnant before? I know I have to ask my doctor, but since I will be seeing him in 2 days from now, I just can't help but worry until then and would appreciate if anyone that has had a similar experience could tell me anything at all that they may know!
