i woke up this morning and noticed blood after peeing.also, i always have brown spotting before my period and wanted to know if this was normal because i have it now and wanted to know if that has anything to do with the blood in the urine? im not sure what the blood in the urine could be. my pee has also had a bad oder like skunk, i know it sounds gross but it looks normal clear i've had this smell for 3 days. i havent had any pain, although when i went to pee this morning i felt like my kidneys were hurting because i hadn't used the rest room. i just want to know what it might be????? also can masturbating( rubbing) effect ur genital area when you are on your period???? thanx

Are you sure the brown spotting isn't from the urine? Or, are you sure the blood is in the urine and it's not vaginal bleeding?
It sounds like you probably have a urinary tract infection - different odor, bleeding, and pain while urinating are all classic signs of a UTI. You can speak to a doctor about it, but you can also help it yourself. Try drinking lots of water...seriously try to aim for the 64 ounces a day that people recommend. Drinking a lot of water will help clean out your system. Also, try to use the bathroom when you need to - do NOT hold it. By doing both of these things, you can probably rid yourself of a UTI in a week or less.
However, if you still have bleeding, a foul odor, or pain with urination after using this 'home remedy' for a week tops, definitely speak to your doctor. It may be a kidney problem, but it may also be a UTI that requires something more powerful than water and good bathroom habits (i.e. antibiotics).

thanks alot for the info. but the funny thing is that i don't have any pain when i pee and it dosen't burn. my aunt has problems with uti's all the time but i don't have the symptoms she does. im also on my period so im wondering if thats why it looked a little darker. im sure that the brown discharge isn't coming from my urethra because i get that everytime before my period. thank you again for the info. i really appreciate it.

Not all women have the same UTI symptoms, so if you ever suspect a UTI you should get tested and treatment.
Each person is unique, and you may not have the same symptoms as your aunt.
