I had my surgery on Friday August 25th 2017 then my first BM was Sunday August 28th and today is September 4th of 2017. It was very painful the first 3 days but I took my pain meds every 4 hours and my stool softeners and 10 mL of milk of magnesia two to three times a day. I also had 1 antibiotics for 7 days and I have another antibiotic for 14 days and I constantly use the numbing cream that my doctor prescribe before and after each BM. After each BM I will wash and clean myself and then sit in a warm sitz bath of Epsom salt and vitamin E oil for about 15 minutes and then I will use the numbing cream which is painful so I go real slow with the cream and then I will get an ice pack flat and wrap it in a thin rag and spray it with witch hazel and put it between my cheeks and that helps me a lot so that was my everyday ritual. The BM is still painful but this does help it be manageable

Try not to eat no beef or pork or really a lot of meat to the three weeks after your surgery. Make sure you take 3 to 4 stool softeners a day along with 10 mL of milk of magnesia twice a day. After each BM clean yourself and sit in a warm sitz bath of Epsom salt and vitamin E oil for about 15 minutes. And then apply your numbing cream and then get a flat ice pack and wrap it in a thin rag and spray it with witch hazel and place it between your cheeks spell lay down and make sure you take your pain meds

I’ve had my surgery 6 days ago I did not eat until day 3 post op I’ve tajen my prescribed Percocet 5/325 which does nothing for pain I also try to use THD lidocaine it does nothing to ease the pain. I’ve have given birth to three children without any pain medication and this pain is the worst I’ve ever felt in my life. Since day five my body has been trying to pass a bm but won’t come out only blood I tried not to fight it and let my body do the work but it was excruciating pain. I woke up on the floor I don’t know how long I was on the floor or how I got there but it was scary. I’m in so much pain sometimes my body shakes like I’m freezing. I still continue to take the stool softener but no luck having a bm. I live in fear now of when the next time I may have the urge to have a bm.

I had my hemmorhoidectomy a week ago yesterday. The pain was so bad immediately after the surgery that I was rocking and moaning even after being given morphine. The pain was even worse the following day, which I have found with all of my surgeries (day 2 is worst because the swelling gets worse). Day 3 things started to improve a little, but not much. It was around Day 4 and 5 that I started to see some noticed improvement. They gave me 5 percocets for the pain as well as 30 Tylenol 3 (with 30 mg codeine). I was nearly out of pain medication and was getting worried, but my wife looked and found she still had some from a procedure she had. That was a lifesaver and got me through to day 6, which was when I stopped the opiate painkillers and just switched to Tylenol and Ibuprophen.
Now, just over a week later my days are pain-free, with the exception of my bowel movements which still hurt. Passing the stool doesn't hurt, but immediately afterward I have a sharp tingling pain that lasts for 5-10 minutes while I sit in a hot, shallow bath.
I'm now off the stool softeners and eating high fibre foods (i.e. oatmeal, fruit smoothies, etc.). I'm having small, somewhat incomplete bowel movements (3-4 per day) so that part still sucks, but I'm hoping things will improve in the near future. It does make leaving the house kind of scary.
I've found this forum to be very helpful. I'll write more later once the recovery is further along.

I had mine done on September 14/2017, an here is it November, an I still cant use the bathroom like I should be, it seems like the passage way is too narrow for anything to come out but mushy stuff, however next week the dr. is going to go do a Flexible Sigmoidoscopy, on me an see what the problem is he said something about it consist of using some kind of balloon too open it up I sure hope that works, if not they are going to have to use something to open it up so I can go have a normal B.M.

I use that Magnesium Citrate, however after it last a day or two running to the bathroom it makes you want to go do it in the creek where there is cool water for all the burning that comes with using it.
