This is an old post but in case anyone is reading here is my advice. Sitz bath as soon as you arrive home and every few hours afterwards. Hopefully you have a bathtub because you need support under your pelvic/rectal area. I’m not sure how the basins that go onto the toilet would provide that. Don’t go near one of those donut pillows and try to restrict you time on the toilet seat. Stand up as often as needed. Just stand over the toilet and lean back if necessary. Here’s a big one. Your bladder may be locked and could become painful and dangerous. You need to pee within 6 hours. Sitting in warm water relaxes the muscles. It is ok to pee in the tub if you need too. It’s your tub. You can clean it afterwards and your bladder will thank you. The first bowel movement is excruciating and that is an understatement. You’re going to need the pain medication for the first couple days but that is a double edge sword. It constipates and makes your first BM experience unbearable. Start your fiber and stool softener as soon as you return home. I had my movements at the consistency of soft serve ice cream before surgery and still got constipated. My first BM was worse than childbirth. I became nauseated and nearly passed out. They tell you to resist pushing but my body took over and I literally had no control. I just have to hope I didn’t damage my incision. Fresh kiwi, canned pears, prune juice etc are your friends. Hopefully this helps someone.

I had hemorrhoidectomy 6 days ago, and I'm still having severe anal pain after bowel movements, specially the evening one. Does anyone know why the evening poo is so painful? And pain last for 2-3 hours in spite of painkillers.
