I need some info on Hypophospatasia. I have heard that it might affect the adults and that in that case, the situation is not that dangerous. I mean, bone malformations as the consequence of that condition are possible, but should be treatable with a so called “rodding” procedure. Is that really effective?

Well, it is better for this condition to attack later in life, because it ends with easily fracturing thigh bones. That is not an easy sign, of course, but it is much better than the prognosis for the babies and small children diagnosed with this condition. Rodding should help the thigh bones maintain their structure and position and since there is no known medication for this problem, this is the only thing that can be done for the adults.
