Hello, guys. My friend has blepharospasm and it seems that conventional therapy is not working to her. She would like to try with botulin toxin injections. I would like to know if anyone from you could share some details with us. We would appreciate this a lot. Thanks in advance. Bye!

Hello. I have heard about this treatment option. A Botulinum toxin is injected. It is not being injected into the eye, but into the tissues that surrounds the eye. Type A of toxin is used for this purpose. Depending on a condition, sometimes more than one treatment will be needed. Botulinum toxin type A is used for other spasms in the body. Your friend should consult with his ophthalmologist about this. I hope this helps. Bye!

My biggest complaint about the injections (and they do not hurt) is that they make my eyes extremely dry and also give me the droopy eye look. The injections are only good for about 3 months. Thank goodness, my insurance covers the whole procedure.
