I have crackling in my head on occasions also. This may occur on some "more stressful" days; however, I also have (I would like to say HAD) Lyme disease. CDC positive.

I dont think the same thing is happening to me. It only accurs in my sleep and I see what looks like a sparkler at a 4th of July party in the sky that is crackling. Then it snaps very sharply and loudly awakening me out of REM sleep slightly. Upon falling back to sleep it does it again. This is folowed by VERY strange dreams. I really just want some answers. I will not mention it to my doctor because I am active duty and dont want this to affect my career.

I also developed the loud, cracking noise in my head (sounds exactly like the sound of cracking ur knuckles) & it started when I was taking antidepressants/ mood stablising meds& vallium ( for anxiety disorder) and using meth- AT THE SAME TIME. The cracking then spread to the muscles in my arms, face, thighs, scalp- but mostly cracking INSIDE the head. My brain and nervous system didn't know if it was comming or going! Severe muscle tension caused most of the cracking but the cracking inside the head? No part of the body gets more tense than the head. Meth does CRAZY STUFF to ur brain WITHOUT MIXING IT WITH SERIOUS medications! Cracking persisted for a few months AFTER i stopped meth..... but it permanantly damaged my brain for sure. I have nothing but regret and will face future medical problems because of my own stupidity. Im 38. I fried my brain. The cracking in my head was so loud but not loud enough to knock some sense into me! I stopped meth for another reason but 100% ...CRACKING IN HEAD= UR MIXING MEDS WITH SUMTHING U SHOULDNT BE! Whether it be mixing it with an illegal drug, another prescribed medication or even a food or vitamin or natural medicine.

Head

My mom of 84 years told me about crackling sounds in her head, 2 days later she passed away in her sleep.  She was bedridden for those 2 days and when moved she complained about pain in her neck.  Have it checked out.

I am a 43 year old female I've been trying to find out myself what the cracking Noises are in my head I get the same thing and look from my doctor saying I don't know .maybe this should be mandatory for all doctors. To know and pass on their Exam to become a caring doctor . My heart and thoughts are with yours . Hope all is going good and well for you.

Im on the same boat. Its definately the 3rd eye decalifying. Ive been studying for 2 months now and I heard this crackling sound last night and I knew right away I could just feel it. I love it

i came on here to find out the same thing! i am 54. it freaks me out. it just happens to me. does not seem to matter what i'm doing. i can be just sitting down, and turn my head. i get a loud crunching sound that really frightens me. i'm going to my doc soon, so i'll ask him. i will for sure let you know what he says!

I had this once and it scared me so much that I called the doctor. It started while I was laying in bed in the a.m., but before the crackling inside my head, I felt the blood pooling in my legs, blood rushed to head and made a crackling sound. I still don't understand what this was?
