I had a small rash at the base of my pecker when I was a kid. It assured many visits which has now produced a person most unashamed to show his penis to consentual onlookers. As fate would have it, my pecker started losing lots of pigment most asymmetrically. In other places, the pigment has darkened a bit. A cosmetic nuisance, but still I sleep. Some moles have arrived overnight, a dark patch or two. The doctor said it was nothing to worry about, and in the case of the rash, biopsy ruled out any malignancy. I even have a mobile calcification that feels like a metal bb floating aroung in there. The doctor said that was ok too.

If you continue to see changes, the responsible thing to do is have it checked out. The odds are that everything is fine. But you should still have it checked if changes over time.

Here is the lowdown, I have had these brown marks/blotches/colouration for about 15 years im 27. When I first noticed the doctor took/did a biopsy and it came back negative. i went back out of desperation to have these marks removed and I went through 3 sessions of incredibly painfull lasser session, to no avail! I have also tried the bleach style cream, to no avail! Its a bit hard when everything you do and everything you try fails and the medical professionals just say just leave it its just cosmetic although for me it has been severely mentaly difficult when it comes to relationships, i find it hard to come to show the laddies what I feel to be incridbly embarasing out of fear of riddicule or them thinking that it is an STD What I would like to hear is who has broken through the emotional barrier and what have your partners reactions been. Because from someone who has tried it all Im sure its here to stay

I'm nearly 40 years old and I've had (what sounds like) the same problem since I was 15. I have a light brown mark to the centre, with a reader mark on the other side of the centre and with a dark line underneath. I've been to clinics and been told it is a yeast infection. Every now and then I get determined to fix it and try some new things, but it's never gone away. The over the counter creams are useless. Last year I was given.... cream. Apply 3 times a day for a week only - as it can cause the skin to thin. The condition did improve during this time, but it came back once I finished. The Doctor insisted I should not continue with it but gave not other options. Doctors don't always have the answers - they're just people like us. It's good to know that this problem is not only mine but seems like many other men suffer with it to. I was married for 10 years and I was never brave enough to show it to my wife - I was just too ashamed that she would think I was 'unclean'. This was probably a contributory factor to our marriage failing! I would suggest that if you have this and are in a relationship you share it with your partner early on. It is not a STD. I have been tested several times. I've pretty well come to live with it but I'm fearful that I may have to be open with a woman about it - at the moment I just don't date (and haven't for 5 years which is a bit sad!). If you are still a teenager and have this I would say go and speak to your parents - I wish I had when I was a kid instead of trying to deal with it myself.

hi I have experienced the same problem but after a close inspection of the brown patch which was at the button of my penis in the pubic area I discovered that it could be removed after a thorough wash like dead skin, just to let people know it may be easier to solve than you think.

I had a zit/ingrown hair or something just above my penis about 2 months ago and after it went away there was a mis-colored spot that hasn't gone away since.  It is kinda freaking me out but from the posts I see here I'm not as worried, any info or insight would be helpfull.

It is some sort of friction burn from masturbating. Skin on skin contact creates this but you don't get it on your hand due to the oils on it. There is nothing to worry about.

What many of you are describing sounds like Tinea Cruris (also called ringworm of the groin). This is a fungal infection of the groin area, and even though it looks bad and may itch it is not as bad as you might think. It is superficial by nature (in the skin only) and is caused mostly because it is so warm and moist in the groin area and prime for fungal growth. To get rid of this is pretty easy:

First, begin and continue to keep good hygiene- not just in your genital region, but also all over your body to curb the infection and reduce the fungal load on your body.

Next, try to wear or use cotton underpants/ underwears. These can absorb the moisture that supports the growth of the fungi in the groin.

Third and finally, if the patches still remain after a couple of weeks, then apply the Anti-fungal agent called Ketoconazole. If you cannot find that get athletes foot cream, it is basically the same but does not have the same dosage so it may take a little longer to clear up. Apply liberally to the infected area. You should see improvement in a couple days to weeks. If not see a dermatologist as your problem may be a little more serious, but I can confidently say this will cure the issue for about 90% of you.

Good luck

this pigmentation is caused by some genes in your blood cell crashing .. not a problem at all dont even think about it .

I have battled with this since when I was maybe 12. I am 23 now. At first it was really embarrassing but to be honest, It's totally fine and normal.  It's just irregular pigmentation. Half my penis is way darker then other parts of it and its all kinda just scattered and patchy looking.  Not ideal, but who the f**k cares.  Every penis looks dfferent.

I don't know what ladies might fear about it, but as a gay guy, I can tell you that every time  I had to finally show one of my partners my patchy peen, they usually just said "ok, what?"

One person even referred to my penis as a "moo-cow", on account of the pathes.  At one point I told him I was gong to attempt to see if it could be fixed and he even told me to f**k the idea and leave it, cus he thought it was cool.  Ive since dated 3 other people.  They all said the same thing "Hey that's prety cool".

Nobody cares. Its just a color.  Does your penis work? Is it healthy? Well ok then!
