Can anyone please assist me with an issue I have been having for just under a month now. My wife gave birth last month and i did not eat a thing throughout the entire day and had a very little to eat the next day also. The day after that I experienced severe Nausea and vomiting and body was feeling very cold, everything I tried to eat felt like it wanted to come out.
I went straight to the A&E who gave me some Cyclizine which were way to strong for me, checked temperature and blood pressure and they said it was all good. Day after I went back to A&E who gave me some Metoclopramide, again these drugs were way too strong I was feeling very restless and felt like banging my head against a wall, again hospital check blood pressure, temperature and took a sample of blood, all came back fine. The day after I visited a GP who checked urine and said i may have a little infection, gave me some Amoxicillin (infection) & Lansoprazole (gas) took these for a week, later in the week, was feeling a bit better.
Gave it a few more days and stomach pains persisted again, I tried ignoring these pains and started to eat as normal as i could for an entire week, felt a little better before i started having a burning sensation on my right hand side which moves above my belly button and on the left hand side from time to time but mainly on the right. I went back to the GP, who checked for tenderness on stomach and advised to carry on taking the Lansoprazole and though it maybe down to stress after a traumatic experience of watching my wife give birth.
Still another week gone and have the same pains, and loss of appetite and losing weight fast. Went back to the GP who organized another blood test. he advised if I have any issues they will contact me, I went on Tuesday and have not heard anything back today (Thursday). I did ask the doctor about a x-ray and he ruled it out saying an xray will just show your bones.
I am taking Gaviscon at times and drinking water but still I have this burning stabbing pain mostly on the right side, sometimes it does go away after eating but is always there and feels very tight. Can anyone with the same or similiar issue please assist or advise as i am running out of ideas and patience with my GP????
P.S - I am scheduled to go back to the GP on Tuesday

Honestly, at this point, if you do not have any help from your GP, try to see a specialist or a different GP. It seems like a problem that should be easily diagnosed (although I don't know what it is!) and that you should consider seeing someone else. What do you think?

Thanks, well i am going to the GP tomorrow to ask to be seen to a specialist, if not I suppose I will have to pay to be seen privately as its my health at the end of the day. Cant believe its been going on this long as when I have been sick or ill in the past it lasts for two days max, this is going on now for under a month.
Having just called the GP surgery they said my results look normal, now i am even more confused...
Hopefully will be fit and well soon especially for my wife and newborns sake as I feel really helpless. I have even changed my whole diet to see if that improves things, will wait and see I suppose...
