Your saying feels like paper cuts in vaginal area caught my eye. Do you have enough lubrication upon insertion/intercourse. Years ago, with my first husband, I experience cuts/tears, and I strongly believe and my dr. did that it was from lack of sufficient lubrication. I hope this helps. I'm experiencing itching/burning and am reading posts. Just took a prescribed pill on Thurs. for yeast infection (called in/no exam), and it's still here, so I don't know what it could be. Any suggestions?

Okay, here is a tough one. I started seeing a new PCP a few months ago who finally started doing something about my migraines. He put me on Topamax and set me up with a new GYN & Endocrinologist. The Topapax has helped the migraines, but has caused some changes (I haved dropped over 25 lbs.) & have been diagnosed with PCOS (Poly-Cystic Ovarian Syndrome). Last week my husband and I made love for the 1st time in about 2 mo. due to my have a decreased sex drive, and almost instantly, after we finished, I was in pain...like typical yeast infection symptoms. The only difference was the discharge is pink (bloody). This has NEVER happened before. I bought the best OTC treatment you can buy, and it has brought absolutely no relief what-so-ever.

Any thoughts? (BTW, I do take Ortho Tri-Previm & just finished a round of Keflex)

All of you guys symptoms could be caused by a semen allergy. You could be sensitive to the proteins in the semen. I have been suffering for a year and just found this out. Yahoo or Google it.

I have been dealing with the same kind of symptoms, the itching and burning during urination, but ONLY after sex and then it goes away. I had a pap test done about a month ago and got a call from my docor just yesterday and she said that my test results came back abnormal and that she needed to see me. She told me that it looks like it can be a viral infection, hpv, herpes...but after reading up on symptoms of yeast infections and reading the symptoms everyone else has I kind of think that it just may be that. I go see an OBGYN next week for a thourough test. Im a little worried but my doctor told me not to worry and that it is curable. I don't know what to think. I have never been in this kind of situation before....

I've been having recurring yeast infections for nine months now and here's what I've found helps: an acidophilous complex supplement (found at health food store) plus folic acid 2x daily. The acidophilous complex I take to help with yeast, and the folic acid because it helps to prevent BV, something that can happen after you kill of all the yeast. Yogurt with live cultures can supplement the vitamins, but I've found that it also helps to avoid drinking BEER in particular and eating too much sugar in addition. But here's the kicker: if I don't have sex then I don't have a problem. Pretty much every time after my boyfriend and I have sex I get a yeast infection, UNLESS I make an effort to get his sperm out of me. Sometimes it mostly leaks out on its own, but I've started to douche (I know, doctors always say BAD idea, but if I don't do it I get an infection) with hydrogen peroxide and water. Not much hydrogen peroxide, about four times as much water, and right after sex. It's good to dry off afterwards as well. If the supplements, good eating habits, and hydrogen peroxide don't ward off the infections, then I stop having sex and finally resort to a vinegar and water douche, which provides nearly instant relief. I've tried all of the over-the-counter c**p and either it doesn't work or it only temporarily clears the infection only to have it come back (usually about a week before and week after my period). The OTC medications are designed to totally annihilate the yeast or bacteria causing the problem, which can then lead to imbalances on the other side: if you kill all the yeast, bad bacteria can take over. If you kill the bacteria, yeast begin to multiply. Taking an acidophilous complex and folic acid (800-1600 µg daily) helps to restore the normal balance. [Note of interest: a few studies have confirmed that birth control pills can lead to folic acid and other B-vitamin deficits in their users!] Often times women who have recurrent yeast infections have yeast problems elsewhere---in the intestines for instance. I don't understand how or why yeast migrates to the vagina, but it does, and so treating the problem internally can make a big difference.

Just because this works for me doesn't mean it will work for everyone, but I came up with these solutions after months of feeling desperate and searching on the internet.

In my search I also found that it's possible for women to have allergies to semen, which can result in yeast-infection-like symptoms anywhere from 5 minutes to 48 hours after sex. If you want to know more about it, do a google search on semen allergies. It's probably more common than people might think (often mis-diagnosed as a yeast infection), and there are a couple of fairly effective (though expensive) cures.

Hope this helps. Good luck, ladies. I know how difficult and painful these things can be.

Get the polyps removed, that my unprofessional advice...i had one on my cervix and it was causing infections and discharges because every time i had intercourse it would get infected...by the way my polyp grew over a period of 3 years..it ended up being the size of a peanut, its painless to get it removed (there will be a little bit of bleeding after they remove the polyps for about a week)...you'll also want them to do a biopsy on the polyps, it is not natural to keep them on ur cervix..i went through 6 months of painful infections and sleepless nights before getting the polyp removed...all my doctors said that it should be removed.

I too have been having this sort of problem, but it's only after sex. I am thinking that the detergent I am using is causing the irritation. I also noticed that after my shower, I I get irritated. It doesnt help to have sex while irritated, but whats a girl to do? I sincerely think it's the soap or detergent and then the sex right afterward brought it on. Any suggestions?
