Hello, good people. My friend is diagnosed with a mouth cancer and this is very strange to me. I know that she had some problems with mouth infections. I would like to know if a virus infection, like HPV, can induce such cancer. I hope someone will answer my post. Thank you for replying.

Hi, there. Virus infection can be one of the triggers for mouth cancer. Human papilloma virus (HPV) is one of those viruses. However, I think that virus alone is not enough. There are some other risk factors that can also increase risk if they are present. One of them is tobacco. Alcohol consumption is also another risk factor. I hope this helps. I am sorry to hear about your friend. Good luck!

Is there any relation between the genetic factor and mouth cancer? My grandfather had it, and I'm worried that I might have it too.
