Hi, folks. My friend has been diagnosed with a mouth cancer. I know that he smoked and drank a lot. I was wondering if tobacco and alcohol are indeed responsible factors for creating an oral cancer. Can someone tell me something more about this? I will really appreciate all your replies.

Hi, there. Tobacco and alcohol are one of the most responsible factors for creating a mouth cancer. Tobacco consumption in any form increases risks. People who chew tobacco, smoke cigars and cigarettes, smoke pipes and other forms are in a higher risk for developing oral cancer. The amount of tobacco per day is very important. The same goes for alcohol. The more one drinks, there is more chance to develop it. It seems your friend has both risk factors. I hope he will be all right. Bye!
