I started to get this "problem" on the way to work last year and thought nothing of it as it wasn't that often. It's just recently, I noticed it when I was with my closest friends each week. Now I have anxiety about going out with my friends and just in general. I have had some issues to deal with recently, however, I believed I was managing them. The frequency has eased up at work though (aside from meetings), but its still there. Sometimes the dreaded urge would last a few hours, sometimes an hour. I experience no pain and nothing has come up as a UTI or the ultrasound.
I am seeing a specialist but have to wait a month. I now don't think there is anything medically wrong with me, but of course want to rule it out by seeing the specialist. I believe I am suffering from Anxiety.
I had heard that seeing an accupuncturist can help with anxiety and the frequent urge to urinate. You mentioned this helped you. How does it help and when did you start seeing difference? I don't expect it to go away over night but am keen to hear your thoughts and how it helped you.

Hey Anon,
Do not dispair my friend. Ive been going through the craziest urinary issues myself for the past 6 months or so. It started off as what I thought was a prostate issue and it turns it is onlly slightly enlarged (the dr.s say it is "ok") but I'm still peeing like a puppydog. Some days are better than others but I have not been able to really rest for six months now. Basically every 40 minutes or so. I've been put on Jaylen (no real change) and just started vesicare. I'm going bonkers!! Had cystoscopy and urodynamics test swhich came out "ok" too. (I'm a kind of nervous and anxious person too - root cause maybe?) I'm also seeing an accupunturist just to touch all of the bases. QUESTION: Has anyone here tried any of these drugs or accupunture. I am also going to add everyone of the folks in these postes to my prayer list - I have new appreciation for health and wellness and for people in general. jimbob

- All of a sudden one day, I felt "different" down there. Urinating and evacuating did not feel the same as they use to. I dont know if its just because I started paying more attention to myself or what, but something did not feel right.
- Libido and ability to achieve and maintain an errection has diminished.
- Urinary stream is weaker
- post urination dribbling
- mild pain with urination
- frequent urination
- Ejaculation force and seamen volume decreased
- chronic to mild constipation
- weird aches and pains in the groin area
- coming and going ache under navel area but above groin
- strange tenderness of penis head, shaft, or testes
- Orgasm not as strong.
- pelvic spasms when ejaculating not as strong and pronounced
- depression
- Passing of gas feels and sounds different
- strange feeling of tightness way up inside bowels
- sudden strong pains that come and go in bowels.
- incomplete emptying after bowel movement.
I have noticed all of these strange symptoms slowly progressing and getting worse with stress and seem to have a mind of themselves. There appears to be patterns some days, like when I sit too long or when I am walking or standing too long I feel like I have to urinate or have a bowel movement frequently. I have gone to the gastro and the urologist and have had urine cultures, and bladder scan and they all say that I seem healthy and that I can empty my bladder just fine.
I am wondering the exact same thing as you guys in if this is caused by anxiety? I am anxious person and always have been even in childhood. perhaps I have been clenching my pelvic muscles or have been masturbating cumpulsively for too long?? Those are my theories but the doctors say that they are not linked.
I would suggest to all that you check out a books called "Heal Pelvic Pain" and "A headache in the Pelvis," they are new books that have been written by doctors and urologists on this issue of OAB and pelvic floor muscle issues. They have home stretches and very good advice you can look into. Many people deal with this problem for years and fully recover. I am trying to quietly wait and will be starting physical therapy hopefully soon.
don't give up because there is a cure for your problems!
