I also agree with the post about having some compassion toward people with addictions, it is a disease.
The question I am trying to figure out...
I am NOT a regular cocaine user. I had used it about twice in my life before (more than five years ago). Five days ago I did a very small amount (less than the equivalent of what one would consider 'a line').
I typically have menstrual cycles that are like clockwork. My period is now 3-4 days late.

Could using a very small amount on one occasion cause me to have a late period??

u maybe a nurse but u didnt answer this persons question. They didnt say they do cocaine, they asked if it could make u late for ur period. It maybe good information about the placenta detaching from the uterus and causing internal bleeding but thats besides the point bc that wasnt the question. I may not be a nurse but all information Ive researched on the matter says the side effect of using cocaine while early in pregnancy can increase the risk of miscarriage. I'm curious myself if it can effect ur period. Or if it can cause u to test negative on a home pregnancy test.

I did coke for 2 years and did not get my period for the last year and a half. When it did come, it was different. It was a very light flow
of dark red/ brown that would last for like two or more weeks. Then I wouldn't get it again for a long time. I am off of it now, and I am back to my normal heavy flow that comes like clockwork. Hmmmmm. Something to think about.

I am experiencing the heaviest and earliest period of my life too only a few days after taking cocaine, is that the reason? Will it always do this?

Alright here I go... Who I are you to judge? I'm sure the ppl on here that are just talking down are probably so called "Christians?" These ladies have been honest asking about a missed period... Not to be bashed and ridiculed.  This is life.. we only live once! And what's sad is the fact that cigarettes and alcohol are just as addictive and harmful, yet legal. The only reason some drugs are no legal is bc the government can't tax on it. Yes, all drugs are bad for you... Including over the counter, cig, alcohol, prescriptions, caffeine, and there's is plenty more.

And nobody can understand what emotion stress why that person is using.... It could be due to pain, emotional pain, PTSD, bipolar, trauma, or any other for of mental illness. f**k, it could just be because he/she is bored. Until you have walked in persons shoe, you alll judgmental f**ks need to shut the f**k up! This is why we have such a problem with addiction, is bc we are constantly ridiculed and so we never seek help for our problems and do turn to drugs... Ppl need love, support, and just knowing that this is life...

For all you ladies that are being ridiculed, just realize that the judge mental f**ks have their own issues and probably can't handle them so they are bashing bc they are more messed up then us! We live once, choose however you want to live your life!!! And if it is an actual addiction and need help, talk to a counselor and not these dumbasses, including the Dr. On here. I had a Dr. Over prescribe me opiates after back surgery and got me addicted at the age of 21... I cut cold turkey off a 160mg opiate addiction a day and have been sober. So doctors are full of sh*t... My mother is a nurse and used to play with drugs back in the day and believe me.... She says, you only live once... Have fun but be responsible with it.

****REMEMBER you are strong and tough to be able to be honest with yourself! Don't let theses fools take that inner light you have! Shine bright!

Correlation is not causation- which explains why many who have responded are given anecdotes which provide both that cocaine causes longer AND shorter periods... so obviously no one here has a proper answer. Yes, cocaine is bad for you in many ways; for your cardiovascular health and central nervous system, as well as throwing off the communication of neurotransmitters, but for all of you who are going dramatic and assuming TorresZ is pregnant, calm down! This is OBVIOUSLY a question to try to rule out that possibly. The question was not "is cocaine bad for my fetus?" Because to that we could all reply "DUH." So calm down you catholic nazi republicans.

Thank you. You are right, don't judge me until you have walked in my shoes. The addicts looking for answers on the net have been hurt and turned down by humans, they are scared, and alone.

correct spelling is gynaecologist in UK. Simpler spelling of gynecologist in USA

Hey I know this was over a year ago you wrote this so you probably wont even see my reply but just in case you do I wanted to let you know a coypkeof things. 1. I hope you're still doing well. Seems like when you wrote this you were on the right pathname really hope you have stayed that way. 2. I came across this looking for answers I didn't feel comfortable asking anyone I knew and you've really helped me so thank you. 3. You're totally right. Unless you have or k ow someone who has suffered or beenthrough this before you can't imagine what it's like and it's going to take lots of people like you with understanding and compassion to turn it around for us all. It's a big job but if everyone is running in the same direction towards the same goals and outcomes we can help lots of people. Negative attitudes and uneducated comments do nothing towards a better outcome. Anyway you'll probably never see this but just in case you do ... Thanks for being you and sticking up for everyone and I really hope everything has worked out well for you :)

at no point did the original poster say that she was pregnant. she asked if cocaine use affected menstrual cycle. being a doctor, you should know that many medications can affect menstrual cycle without a pregnancy being involved. how about actually reading the original posted question instead of jumping to conclusions like others on this forum who most likely aren't a practicing physician or don't have a medical degree. if you truly are a doctor, I am afraid for your patients.

I'm highly doubting you are a doctor, based on the fact that you spelled gynecologist wrong. Furthermore, these women are asking because they are most likely recreational users not intending to get pregnant. Jeez People calm down, an addict probably wouldn't be on the sight caring
