Hey I wear glasses and I was staring at a lamp not the light bulb just the lamp. And then my eyes started to feel pain. I splashed cold water on them and they still felt pain. No changes in my vision really. In just asking can I be going blind?

Hi, its a good sign that there is no change in your vision but you should take care with your eyes. They are obviously important and you should avoid doing stuff like staring in a direct light or sunlight because it could eventually damage your eyes. I would not go as far as going blind; but you could do some temporary damage to your eyes. It might take some time for your eyes to go back to normal. Its probably that some pressure has build up because you stared at a light for some time. Avoid similar situations and watch out for your eyes. Another thing you could do to rest your eyes is to take a half an hour of your time and stare at a blank wall. That rests your eyes a bit.

I think staring at anything for a long time would stress the muscles that control your eyes.

Unless it's a pretty girl:-)

I just close my eyes to rest them.

Well said haha. I was going with the logic that a blank wall rests your eyes because you process nothing when you look at it but i guess closing them works obviously better. However, i would not bet on staring on a pretty girl :) your eyes could be over processing the image and overload the system lol.
