Im 60 no period or sex for 3 years. About 8 mo ago started having those turned on feelings, embarresed by this. I finally told my husband of 42 years, he got viagara, we had sex, my breasts started feeling full, now i find i'm 3 mo along. I had my tubes clamped 32 yrs ago, the doctors say the one tube found itself and grew back together. My daughter is 43 and childless, she's getting this baby as a suprise.

Hi to the 60 year old Mum to be! I read your post and wanted to cry for you and your daughter. As a women of 46 who has had 4 miscarriages and has been ill for a long time..i've not managed to have a baby and now I think i may be menopausal. How mysterious life can be? Look after yourself and good luck with everything.

First of all no one goes through menipause at the same age. Second I have been pregnant 4 times in my 40's. The last time
I was 47 and the doctor told me I was going through memipause. Took the pregnancy test and came back positive. I did miscarry
6 weeks later. But absolutely you can conceive while in your 40's as long as you still have a healthy body and have a period.

Quote:That's  a good idea. I thought about doing that too. My son and his young wife are childless. She had to have a hysterectomy for medical reasons.(Which sadly, was a mistake, and wrongly diagnosed). I couldn't deal with a baby, bringing them to school...all over again.(56)

I went through menopause when I was 19. Premature Ovarian Failure (POF). Mind you my 3rd and 4th opinion specialist doctors confirmed that I had completed menopause due to hormone levels in many blood tests. I now have a 5 year old. And I did not get pregnant because I was still going through menopause. I was completely through it. After talking to my 5 (4 specialist and 1 normal OBGYN) doctors, all of them agreed and told me that I still had eggs. It just depended on which ones were released as to if I could get pregnant. I saw my ultrasound and saw my eggs. So just because someone has gone through menopause doesn't mean their eggs just disappear. And Just because you don't have a period, doesn't mean you don't ovulate. Yes in a normal woman who has not gone through menopause they have a cycle if the egg is not fertilized. In a menopausal woman with no period the egg basically dissolves inside of the woman just as it would in her ovaries if not released.
My son is a living proof that YES post menopausal women CAN get pregnant. It is incredibly rare but it is possible. I understand a lot of you will have doubts about my story because I went through it so young. Most people don't believe me anyways, but keep in mind that just like every other woman, I know my body and what the doctors have told me.

I have a feeling a lot of people just don't get this - they often relate menopause with ovulating. Although obviously there's some relationship overlaps these two are very different processes. A woman may have her period just fine but is infecund. Not having reached menopause doesn't mean you can get pregnant! However since it is unlikely a woman reaches menopause in her 50s without having run out of eggs (which start decreasing expotentially since 35) you could say menopause is a clear sign of infecundity but the two things are not directly correlated!
I'm always amazed how many people find this difficult to understand.

Check to see if you have h-pylori.  If you have it, it will feel like a baby moving around, flutter.  Simple test - Check it out!  This can happen to anyone and yes it will feel like a baby moving around or something moving around  in the intestines/stomach.  People are not making it up,  people just need to listen to what concerns other people have and help them.

I'm 50.  Haven't had  a period in 8 months.  I'd like to have a baby.  If there's a chance that I can become pregnant, how would I know that I'm ovulating?  In other words, what would be the best time to have sex?
