I need some info about the hole surgery. It will be done on my brother next week and I would like to know if hat will help him see as he did before the eye problems. And in the case the surgery fails, ca it be done again? And how effective it actually is? Perhaps there are some other options?

Macular hole surgery, if needed, should help your brother a lot in restoring a proper eyesight. As for the effectiveness, it depends on the period the condition has lasted (the shorter, the better). I am no so sure about repeating the procedure, it should help the first time it is done, so let’s wait and see the results. I am sure he will be much better after the procedure (although the recovery might last for couple of months).
