I also have had UTI's since i can remembered. Now i have been married for 4 years and all those years i have tried to get pregnant without success.
Just recently i decided to go to an urologist and they did some xrays, sonograms, and CT scans with and without contrast and noticed that i had a huge (4cms) kidney stone, and now they are saying that i need to remove my kidney.
Word of advise: even having 1 UTI per year should raise a flag...don't let this happened to you that just because you go to the GP or gynecologist and they prescribe antibiotics think that you are free of infections. Please check with a specialist. Sometimes gynecologist or GP don't check your medical history...you think they do, but they don't. If i had a good doctor that check my history, he would have noticed that i was getting 4-6 infections a year and he never referred me to a specialist. Now i do have to remove my entire kidney.
I do think that UTI could cause infertility because your body is too busy fighting an eternal infection and doesn't have the strength to hold/make a baby. I will let you know if after the removal of the kidney and recovery, i can get pregnant.
Also i went to fertility treatments before going to the urologist and of course they never seemed to care to check for my kidneys or UTI's...they just wanted to get the procedures done and take out as much money from my pocket....So...read a lot, get specialist on your side and drink a lot of water

You have joined the party of: vesicoureteral reflux (aka open reflux valves,) which is where a little of your urine travels back up to your kidneys instead of all flushing down. I was diagnosed as an infant with this, and took medication every day to prevent UTIs and kidney scarring up until I was about 6 because my infections had finally ceased. Fast forward to age 17 when I became sexually active. Holy. Sh*t. The UTIs came back with a vengeance. I experience a UTI about a week or less after I get One treated. I’ve reached a point where I’m so sick of going to urgent care for a quick treatment that I now just endure the pain and attempt to go throughout my days as best I can. Bad. Idea. I’m now 24 and a few months ago I experienced my first full blown kidney infection. I was hospitalized for it. It’s no mystery that sex is the #1 reason why I get UTIs, but because I have open reflux valves it doesn’t matter what I do: hydrate, pee before/after sex, cranberry juice, whatever “remedies” you can find on google you can bet Ive tried to use to prevent infections, none of it matters. It’s a genetic disorder that mainly us unlucky women have, and the ONLY way to prevent infections is to get on a medication (not antibiotic) that you have to take daily, or get the surgery performed. The daily medication worked for me when I was on it, so I would suggest talking to your urologist about starting up on a prescription. .... as for this affecting fertility? I have researched for years and haven’t found anything officially saying it does, BUT from reading comments from other women experiencing the same thing I have found they’re having difficulties getting pregnant too. I’ve been trying for years and with two different men (during separate relationships obviously) and haven’t even gotten close to pregnant. During the first relationship I thought it might be him, but now 3 years later with my husband I’m still not pregnant.. how could it be 2 different guys as the problem? I do have some kidney scarring, but nothing too horrible. I really think this does affect fertility, and it’s left me heartbroken. My urologist said if I ever do get pregnant that I’ll have to be under constant surveillance because the pressure the baby will put on my bladder will cause even MORE infections, and those infections can be very harmful for the baby and myself. Those words were shattering to the ears of a woman who has dreamed of being a mother for a long time. I hope someone else has better news because I’m down right desperate for someone to prove me wrong.
