First the sequence of events

10-12 yr- Pain left flank

Diagnosed kidney (or I think ureteral) stone

Lithotripsy done

23 yr- No symptoms until now

Shrunken and scarred kidney on USG

GFR 67- CKD stage 2

How the hell did this happen????
and what should I do now to improve my health and prevent any further damage??

Hi! I'm sorry to hear your story. I read that Chronic kidney disease is initially without specific symptoms and can only be detected as an increase in serum creatinine or protein in the urine. It may progress without symptoms for a long time until only very minimal kidney function is left. A dietitian can help you determine the appropriate diet plan for you. You'll need to limit salt, protein and fluid intake. If you smoke you should stop smoking. If you have some excess weight you'll need to lose it.
