Oh no karen. I had my hope so high for you. Do u think its because the fungus got resistant to it cz u had used it once before? Im heartbroken. Have u had a chance to meet up with ur doctor after ur culture report came? What did he say? What do u have on mind now?
Regarding ur question abt having the infection long term, i once met with a gynae doc who said a lot of ppl have glabrata. Majority dont have any symptoms and they never know they have it. I believe there maybe no longterm effects then. But im not sure and its worth to ask a doctor abt this. I have had this for 1.5 years now.
I have slightly bad news to share too. I missed my appointment with my ID doc and my next appointment is 11th august :(. So stupid of me.
Did my 2 weeks of boric acid. And now on 3 days gap. Will give a culture soon.
I have been taking black seed oil. Some lady on this forum had suggested tht and i thought its worth a shot. Been only a few days since having tht.
Do keep us posted u all.
A bear hug to u karen.

Hi S,
I’m not really sure what happened. I think it either became resistant or never worked. The first time I used it they cultured me just four days later which now they are telling me was too soon to determine if it was gone because the medicine stays in your system for two weeks and you have to wait at least two weeks to culture. I already had it back at two weeks out.
I haven’t seen the doctor yet since I got the news but I can tell they are totally at a loss for what to do. I have an appointment in 8 months to get in with one doctor who supposedly is an expert in this, otherwise, I am going to do everything I can to fight it naturally. I don’t know what else to do, the meds aren’t working for me.
Sorry about missing your appointment, I know how frustrating that can be when you feel awful! Keep me updated on how you are doing and if the black seed oil is working! I am hoping others have or will find things that have worked for them and it will eventually work for me too! anyone out there who has success, please post!!!!!

Dear Karen, I'm so sorry to hear about you results! I know it can be devastating, but please stay positive and know that you will find a way to beat it.
Regarding having the infection for a long term, I was told the same as S. My doc said that in many cases there are no symptoms and then it does not need to be treated. Sometimes it can even pass by itself. I also heard it from another specialist I saw. I think it's something that we should remember, it can help us be less stressed and scarred about it. For me one of the main reasons I try to get rid of it is that it effects my sexual intimacy with my partner. I'm now taking some time to try and treat it naturally, and meanwhile it helps me to remember that this is something that people can live with.
Is the doctor you are going to is the one that was mentioned at the other forum that discusses glabrata? (I also read it :) ). I think that my doc knows him since she mentioned him few times, and if it's him it sounds like a really good idea, even if the appointment is in few months from now.
Also, my doc briefly mentioned a patient of her that had this for few years, and the ampho b/flucy did not helped her. Eventually what helped her was a long treatment of nystatin and baking soda douches, but unfortunately I don't know the details about how they did it (will ask her when I'll see her). I think a specialist might know about other options like this one that could treat it.
The baking soda douches still help me, I usually do it when the symptoms are stronger and it gives me an immediate relief. I will ask my doctor about tea tree oil when I see her (but I'm not sure when it will be, since I am not doing any treatment at the moment), why did one of the doctors advised you not to use it?
Sending love and good thoughts to all of you,
Rachel

Hi Rachel,
Thanks for the comforting reminder. It’s so easy to get freaked out with this infection because some (I would even say a lot) of the information out there is very scary!
The big problems for me are both the sexual intimacy and also that my vaginal tissue is really tender and damaged. Yes, the dr from the other forum is the one I am scheduled to see (he is booking 8 months out). The other forum is one of those that is hard for me to read because it gets me freaked out. I wanted to let you know I have been doing the baking soda douches for a little over a week now and I have to admit my symptoms are much better. In fact, I have had literally no discharge since starting this. I can’t tell if it is helping the tissue at all but otherwise it really does help my symptoms. Your doctor definitely sounds more knowledgeable about this than mine.... if you are able to communicate with her sometime soon, please ask about the baking soda and nystatin and also the tea tree oil. I was told no on the tea tree oil because you can very badly damage the tissue if not used right. I know you have to be very careful to dilute it properly but if diluted correctly, there seems to be mixed information on whether it can work. I am seeing a naturopath now and also trying to treat naturally. We’ll see if it helps at all. Would love to hear if you have luck with anything else or are able to get more information from your doctor.
Big hugs and lots of love to you, S, and Cindy.

Hi Karen,
I am okay. I found out that I had Candida paripilopsis. It is another yeast pathogen that can be resistant. I also did have the other two infections of bacteria- proteus and Enterococcos as well.
My ID doc told me to stop the boric acid because if I didn't my body would never recover on its own. I stopped it and recently did a half mixture with coconut oil and boric acid that seemed to do really nothing. I went back to it because I was on holiday and had been in the water and didn't want to risk an infection or UTI- which as you know I've had issues with as well.
What has given me major relief is lemongrass essential oil and a couple of other essential oils. It dries the discharge completely up- with this particular Candida I started to get a pasty type discharge. It wasn't always there but I know it's the yeast and not the bacteria. I've been speaking with a ND who wrote a book on this topic and has a website that is so helpful. I started following some of her protocol and it has brought relief. Also I've used Usnea Lichen both the alcohol tincture and the glycerin- it is wonderful- the glycerin is easier on the tissues and I always roll my tampon in coconut oil and or olive oil to dilute it. It doesn't clear it but gives major relief. Usnea is used to treat many vaginal infections. I've also used collodial silver 500ppm. Another great relief. I feel almost normal with that. But I didn't want to use it all the time. I've heard that you should rotate natural supps every 4-10 days. I've also been repopulating my vagina with Jarrow Dophilus Women's - different from Fem Dophilus. I order the veggie caps. 10 billion cfu. I make a coconut oil bullet and mix in the probiotic. It does help as well. I just ordered more essential oils in hopes that I can get rid of it and not just be comfortable. What I've heard is the natural treatments can sometimes help break the biofilm so that a regular treatment will work. I have the amphotericin supps that I haven't used and also I am thinking of a last ditch effort to use ticonazole-- which I've read has been successful with glabrata as well-- but here's he thing-- Flucanozole has caused these strains to become resistant. If you keep exposing it to Flucanozole it may create a monster. I've have one prescription and that was months ago. Hopefully it's not resistant.
Oh and probiotics have worked well but they don't clear it. If I skip my probiotic my vagina will rage. Diet may not be my problem-- a weakened immune system might've been the cause. My WBC and RBC were low and it's common when you have resistant yeast infections. Like you, I've upped my Vit D3 and am taking astralagus and Brazil nuts. Info feel better with this addition. I ate sweets recently and it didn't affect it one way or the other. Although I won't do it on a regular basis.

Hi Tre,
Glad to hear your doing ok and know for sure what you have! I hope you can figure out the right mixture of things to treat it. I am seeing a naturopath now too. I see her again this week so it will be interesting to hear what she prescribes. Do you think you can completely get rid of it with natural treatments? The conventional medicine didn’t work for me obviously so I really hope so. I wonder if a lot of the conventional meds didn’t work for me because of the biofilm. I was told a good biofilm buster to try is Serepeptase. You get it off of Amazon. I haven’t tried it yet but probably will once I figure out my next treatment attempt. Can you post the website for your ND doc?
Keep me updated on how your doing. I wonder a lot how everyone is doing (you, S, D, Cindy, Rachel)!

Hi Karen,

I am just staying the course. I will go back to the doctor in four months, and he will see if I am getting more good bacteria. I am feeling better though and hope you are continuing to feel better also!

Hi Karen
I don't think I can post the website here. The last time I gave you the group info they blocked me and I had to appeal. It's really awful that we can't do it but I guess they want to prevent selling products.
I really hope you find an answer with your NP! Please keep me updated on the protocols. I do believe natural treatments can resolve it. It's just it's best to be under the supervision of an experienced ND. I have had some negative reactions to things I've tried, so I know that natural doesn't always mean safe. They are still medicinal.
I just Spoke with a woman I tracked down off Amazon. I did a name search and found her on Facbook. She had left a review of usnea and said it cures her. She finally responded and gave me a protocol. Though the protocol was not on Amazon. It would have you thinking that usnea did it alone. She combined it with other natural meds. So yes, natural meds work very well when used properly.
I absolutely think a biofilm could be involved and serapeptase I've heard is a great one along with Interfase and lactoferrin. I take the latter and I've done well on it. The ND that o communicate with has a list of pathogens and a list of natural meds that break the biofilm and cure it.

Hi Tre,
If you create an account on here I think you can send me the information via private message if you are willing. Sorry it’s a pain! My ND has me on the Interphase right now along with high doses of natural antifungals that I rotate every 7 days. It’s hard to tell yet if it’s doing anything. Do you know if the usnea is supposed to work for glabrata? What does your ND have on her list for natural meds for glabrata? I have also been using the baking soda which does help with symptoms for me but it hasn’t helped with the damaged tissue:( I so just want to get rid of this once and for all!!!!

S - how are you doing? I sent you a few private messages. Did you get them?

Hi all! I’m currently 32 weeks pregnant and was diagnosed with glabrata after a swab for suspected BV this was all after just getting off meds for a UTI. I have literally spent every ounce of my time researching this (obviously you all know there is very little information) I just did a one time treatment of Gynazole (unfortunately not many meds are safe during pregnancy) I am just scared for my little girl and praying this medicine works so I can have a vaginal birth and breastfeed without having to worry about passing this on to her somehow. I read all 18 pages of this thread and appreciate all the help. There is even less research out there on glabrata and pregnancy so I am not sure I can even try any of the alternative methods. I did begin a prenatal probiotic so hopefully that will help. Literally never had a UTI or yeast infection until this pregnancy. *sigh*

Hi Jess,
I’m so sorry to hear about your situation☹️ Can you tell if the gynazole helped at all? If you’re not already you may want to consider seeing a naturopath. They should be able to tell you if there are any natural treatments you can use during pregnancy. I have read one article that stated tea tree oil is safe during pregnancy when properly diluted, something maybe to ask a ND. Nystatin might be another option. I think I remember reading that one is pretty safe also. Keep us updated and any ladies out there, please keep posting if you find treatments that work!
