My son is 12 year sold and he has been dealing with asthma ever since he was 9 years old. His condition is stable, or at least was until recently. It seems that he will have to switch from puffer to Seretide accuhaler. Is that thing effective? Will it really help my son stabilize his health state again?

I guess we will not know that until he tries it. Seretide should be helpful and subdue the asthma problems. It is very effective because it contains two medications in its structure, fluticasone propionate and salmeterol xinafoate. Since it is a powerful medication, it is possible that he might have some allergic reaction to it. So, I suggest you watch your son closely in the beginning of the therapy to see if he experiences some additional medical problems.
