Just to let you know Cassie, we are NOT doctors! So IF you ever feel like you need to go to the hospital then you go! Arythmia is also VERY common with people who have heart murmurs! And as I said before many people have heart murmurs! you need to follow your doctors insturctions! Start taking Omega oils - these REALLY help your heart! BUT always see a doctor even in the ER OK?

I know you are not doctors, I am just getting some advice before I have to go back to the doctor. I am also just sharing my information of what I have. That's all. I am not asking for medical advice.

I know! Actually there was a lady that posted a note about how here daughter has it, I told her to join this thread! This site is ALL about information given and received! I just didn't want you to wait for us to say something, when we dont' have the qualifications!
As a woman with a heart murmur and Arythymia! I will tell you that I REALLY benefited from taking Omega 3, 6, 9, oils! Also Co-Enzyme Q10I would have epidodes of my heart just fluttering away! Which would FREAK me out! And I can say that I only get some once in awhile now! Also Calcium with Magneious and Potassium is GREAT! When you are stressed you will feel this more and also with your caffeine intake ALSO your hormone levels! I had a hysterectomy 9 years ago! And I found that I had more of the Arythmia after that! I don't know if there is any correlation or not! Also the nearer you get to menopause or perimenopause you will feel this more as well!
Another thing I found out with ALL the tests is that the Arythymia can actually be from your stomach's aeorta too! Because I had a heart monitor on me for 3 days and I would press the button everytime I felt a blip! BUT the machine didn't register the blip! It was from my Aeorta in my stomach!
A Heart Murmur can sometimes not be there, it is worse when you are laying down! So try and keep your body elevated! Have you been perscribed anti-inflammaotries for your inflammation!

Thank you for replying. I went for my follow-up appointment with my PCP and he reffered me to a Cardiologist next week. I am also getting a 24 hour heart monitor too sometime next week. He said my symptoms are not normal. I still have pain in my chest and jaw, and pain both my arms and shoulders, mostly on the left side, and the left part of my face. I got an echocardiogram done today, and waiting for the results. I also get rapid heartbeats at times that go over 100 beates per minute even when I am not doing anything or stressed out. For a few nights also, I have been getting cold sweat on my forehead, but I don't know if that has anything to do with the chest and jaw pain. Do you know if it does? With the heart murmur I have, I heard a whooshing on the echocardiogram and I could have a leaky valve. But I will know more once the results come back. I will keep you posted. Not feeling well at all. I am very tired and I get lightheaded at times and I get weak.

Since they think that you could have a leaky valve, I am going to go out on a limb and say I think you have Heart Valve Disease - check out the symptoms! Just know that NOT all HVD's need operations etc. I suspect that they will tell you to take antibiotics every time you have teeth cleaning, or need surgery! It is mostly controlled with medications, also they will take into consideration - where the valve problem is, your age, your physical activity, your age etc. MANY women have this problem as do men, but a lot can be from infections even hormone imbalances - such as thyroid problems! So as I said before honey IF you feel like you need to be seen quicker, go STRAIGHT to the hospital! Keeping in mind what I and many of my friends were told! Heart Murmurs are rarely fatal so when you go in there with your heart beating out of your chest, ytou will be surprised at how little concern the doctors and nurses show you! I was SO upset by this! And the cardiologist said to me "Only come back if this doesn't stop after 3 days of non stop arythmia!!!!" And when I went to have anotehr check up with an Echo the lady doing the test, told me she has about 100 episodes a day!!!! It's those darn hormones! And even Oprah Winfrey mentioned it too! SO many women aren't aware of that this is a sign of perimenopause that they panic - OF COURSE - and then are sort of shot down! So just be prepared for that! I am glad you are getting a halter! But I will say again get to that hospital IF you feel bad OK? Good luck and health honey!

Thank you for replying. I still have the symptoms, but they got worse. I am having very bad chest and jaw pain. Also, pain in both arms and shoulders, and in my neck. I noticed also, when I take my pulse it skips beats and then sometimes it is a faint pulse and sometimes it is a rapid pulse. I am seeing a Cardiologist next week. I am thinking the leaky valve is causing my symptoms. I have been crying because the pain is so bad.

Forgive me for not been on the ball today! BUT don't you have problems with your ribs too? If so you should NEVER disregard that MUCH pain! It's not right! I understand about your pulse, be we aren't the greatest at taking our own pulses! So don't worry too much about that! Do you feel skippinbg beats that make you cough? Or is it lower? Just because you are seeing a specialist next week does NOT mean you have to wait to get help OK? Personally I don't think it's your heart - totally for the pain anyway - I think it is a pulled muscle either in your ribs, chest - I know this sound negligent, but it can be MAJOR! I am NOT saying that it has nothing to do with your heart! BUT the pain I think is from something less sinister!

Thank you for replying. I spoke to a retired paramedic and gave me his phone number so I can talk to him about my symptoms. I explained to him about the pain and that it is really bad. I told him I have been getting bad chest and jaw pain, with pain in both my arms and shoulders, the left part of my face, and in my right elbow now, and also in my neck. I also said that I am having skipped heartbeats when I take my pulse, with sometines rapid heartbeats and sometimes pounding heartbeats with fluttering in my chest. Sometimes it is a faint beat too. I also told him about the previous 15 minute episodes I had with the trouble breathing and pressure in my chest. I told him that my chest hurts when I breathe and I always have this small pressure in my chest all the time and I can't breathe normally. I said that I also have a heart murmur and it sounds like a whooshing sound.
He said this is not good. He thinks I may be having a heart attack or the onset of a heart attack and if don't get help now, it could lead to some serious problems with my heart. I told him I have been to the hospital three times and I explained that they release me becasue all they found was minor valve problems. He ddn't know why they didn't keep me for a couple days because then they could montor me more often. I told him that maybe because the valve problems are minor, all I am going to be put on is medication. He doesn't want me to wait until I see a Cardiologist. He wants me to get to the ER and he thinks they may keep me for a few days.

That's what we have been saying Cassie! I truly believe however the pain you are having is NOT related to your heart! I think it just happens at the same time, due to you being SO nervous when you get the pain! I have had similar pain problems in the poast because of a pulled back muscle and from coughing hard - which hurt my ribs and back! Honestly they would have DEFINITELY noticed a heart attack with t monitor! Womens symtpoms are FAR different then mens - when it comes to a heart attack! BUT they are still picked up via a holter and an ECG! Also depnding on how old you are this might just be associated with Perimenopause!

Thank you for replying. I spoke to a medical doctor over the phone last night and he says my symptoms are not good. He thinks it is heart related. I told him the pain is really bad and he said if I don't get to the hospital, I may be doing further damage to my heart. I told him about the skipped heart beats and he said that is not good at all. I told him that my chest and jaw pain got worse, and the pain got worse in my arms and shoulders, and also in my right elbow, and the left part of my face. He said that these are heart related symtoms. I also have family history of heart attacks too.

Thank you for replying. I just wanted to explain that because bambi27 doesn't think it is heart related that was posted in the last post. I think the doctor I spoke with over the phone is right that it is heart related. He said I could have started to have some damgad to my heart muslce already and the pain getting worse is warning me that something is wrong.

All I had was mild discomfort between my shoulder blades like I might have lifted something heavy sometime earlier. When I went to the ER to have it checked they didn't seem to take too seriously. I was sent to the waiting room for about an hoiur and a half. I was getting tired of waiting and I almost went home but my wife talked me into waiting longer. When they finally took me in to check me out, after the initial check, they sent me to a cubie to wait for the EKG machine to be brought in. While I was sitting there the white clock face turned green, I started sweating, and I felt nauseous. I opened the curtain and said something to a nurse who was passing by and that opened up a bee hive of activity. They tried to get an IV started but couldn't because my veins were so collapsed. They grabbed a paramedic off an ambulance that was at the loading dock and she got it in. They told me I had the heart attack at that time. I never had any serious pain or a hard time breathing.
I ended up having 6x bypass surgery.
Afterwards while I was in cardiac rehab I met a guy who had no pain at all during heart attacks. He had had several and each time the only way he knew was by passing out. He was lucky he didn't die due to no warning symptoms.
Everything you mentioned is individually a symptom of heart problems and collectively they are almost screaming at you to do something. It IS possible that it's NOT, but what if it is?

Cassie! I NEVER said for you not to go to the hospital! We ALL have told you to go there right away! What I was talking about is that you have been tested 3 times and they found NO deteriation of the heart! And that you are in pain ALL the time and for DAYS at a time = IF it was ALL about the heart, believe me you wouldn't be on line anymore! Jaw, arm, back, chest pain are ALL symptoms of heart attack! BUT there are also symptoms of pulled muscles, nerve damage, fractured ribs etc.! I would never and have NEVER mentioned that this isn't about your heart! I just think that there is something else going on, on TOP of the heart problems! You ahve talked to us, your doctor, an EMT and another doctor and we ALL say to get to the hospital, so I am with NJOYN when I ask, "Why haven't you gone?" I stated earlier NOT to wait till you see your cardiologist IF you are in such pain! All I can do from this end is tell you about my - virtually totally the same - symtpoms and outcome! Age and sex, size etc. has a HUGE amount to do with the heart issues! NOT neccassarily a heart attack - but causing heart murmurs and arythmia! So please go to the hospital and try to find out from them what is going on! NO hospital ignores heart problems! They are trained for this! And as NJoyn also stated, his symtpoms were different, but also similar and shouldn't have been ignored! As neither should yours! So no more typing and get to the hospital! And remember we are NOT doctors, just relating personal experiences and advice!

Thank you for replying. I just have a few more things to say. I know I should get to a hospital. I am actually afraid of going there though. I have always been afraid of going to hospitals.
I actually found out that I do have a family history of heart attacks. Also, when I spoke to the retired paramedic, I asked him, if I was having a heart attack, wouldn't I be gone by now? He said not necessarily because depending how bad it is, it may be leading up to a heart attack or a heart problem and just starting to damage the heart muscles. He said get to the hospital because if I don't, I will probably have heart problems and future heart attacks.
I know you are not doctors. I am just telling you my symptoms. If it was a pulled muscle in my chest, I don't think it would radiate to my arm, jaw, or back. I know this is definitely not a pulled muscle.
