Sorry to say most docs suck, they are totally incompetent in diagnosing the disease and their stupid medicinal sense is allowing disease to progress to such levels that the damage cannot be repaired. I truly hate to say this but most of the doctors are totally incompetent and wasting patients health by only believing in their stupid machines instead of the explicit symptoms of disease. I believe that their license to practice medicine should be renewed yearly only after taking rigorous exams.

OK, just a little information about Chlamydia. I am not a doctor but I am currently dealing with Chlamydia myself.

First off, if you have tested positive for Chlamydia, STOP HAVING SEX! No, oral, anal, or vaginal sex. Even if you are using protection it is NEVER 100%.  If you don't wait, then you are only putting yourself through more stress and confusion about your current state. I enjoy sex as well, but for your peace of mind and your health just masterbate until you KNOW you are clean.

Chlamydia WILL NOT go away by itself without the aid of antibiotics. Everybody is different, so an antibiotic that works for one, might not work for you. don't stress!

I have taken Azithromycin. 1000mg at one point, and then another 1000mg from a Z-pak. This did not work for me. I still have the symptoms. don't stress!

I was then given Doxycycline 100mg twice a day for 7 days. I have JUST finished my last day today. I still have symptoms but antibiotics can still be working like 10 days AFTER your last dose.

Getting tested again so soon after finishing an antibiotic can give you a false positive because the bacteria can still be in your system. Wait at least 10 days until after your last dose before getting tested again, even two weeks later would be better.

for safety sake and because symptoms are not always present, do not have sex until your test comes back negative. If you do have sex you are only risking reinfecting yourself and starting the process all over again.

antibiotics have a VERY high success rate and they will work unless your infection has been untreated for awhile and more sever complications can occur.

The most important thing is to not have sex after you have tested positive until you KNOW you are negative. You know there is a problem, so why would you put yourself through more uncertainty until you get well. For the people who have had sex so soon after being treated, I would just assume you are still positive and get tested again. It is better to be too safe then to just hope for the best.

There are MANY clinics that will work with uninsured low income individuals, you just have to search for them. Also don't be shy or ashamed to get tested. STD's are very common and a little embarresment is totally worth your health and knowing your situation. These doctors have seen ALL of this before, you are not the first and you won't be the last.

Don't stress and follow what the doc tells you. finish your prescribed meds even if you think you are better. stop having sex until you are negative. It will only mean better, guilt free, and passionate sex when you have rid yourself of this bacteria.

If you are the person who just can't stop having sex during your time with Chlamydia then you are more than likely gonna be battling more STD's in the future. 30 days of not having sex is really NOT that hard. seriously......seriously!!!

This is just what I have gathered from my internet research and myself having Chlamydia.

If you are having sex you should be using protection. Did the Dr. that prescribed this to you not tell you anything. 1. you should be using protection EITHER WAY...even if they are clean. 2. You cant trust anyone when they say they are clean. 3. YOU are not clean so you probably just infected that person you had sex with.

CONDOMS--invest in them

It doesn't not cure itself!!

Chlamydia DOES NOT cure itself, you have to take the antibiotic and can't have any sex at all for atleast a week.

If you go get tested again after this week, you will come back positive no matter what as you will still have dead dna in your system which can take more than 2 months to get out of it..

I'm genuinely amazed at how little people pay attention to packets and pharmacists/doctors/nurses. If you've been given treatment, and are not sure whether its been cleared up completely, go get checked again, after the treatment has finished. Simply explain the situation to whoever is about to conduct the test, and see what they have to say. Chances are they know what they're talking about. If not, go somewhere else. As for sex whilst on the medication. Just NO! The health care workers always stress, "no sex or oral sex whilst on the treatment, or a week after". They quite rightly assume that these are very basic instructions. Follow them to the letter and you should be okay. Then, when you do start having sex again, either with the same or a different partner, use a condom, until you've both been tested again, and the results come back clear. Repeat treatments until that is the case and you'll be golden.
