I have recurring back pain which feels more like the pain is in my hips. Sometimes its the right and sometimes left. I have had CT Scans, MRIs, bone scans, and xrays that show nothing. My doctor has prescribed every kind of pain medicines and none of them help. I keep telling them that nothing stops the pain. The more I sit the more intense the pain and makes it hard to get up. I am unable to bend at the hip on the side of the pain. the only relief I get is to lie down for days until the pain subsides. I am at my wits end. When this happens, I miss days off work and cannot do anything. Does anyone have an answer?

Hi Judy, Have you ever had your doctor or a chiropractor measure to see if your legs are even? Sometimes if there is a difference in leg lengths (almost everyone has one leg shorter than the other) then it will wear on your hip joints over time causing pain. It is an easy fix once it is identified, a lift that is inserted into the shoe of the leg that is shorter. Even as little as a 1/4 of an inch can be the difference in pain and no pain. If this proves to be the case for you, your doctor can write you a prescription for a lift, & is usually covered by insurance. I know it sounds super simple, but wouldn't it be great if this is all it was? I hope this was helpful! Good luck to you!

Can I confirm that when the pain is on the left you can't bend to the left, but when it's on the right you can bend to the left.

When your leg is weak is it only that one movement that is weak? And that movement is extending your leg at the hip to stand from sitting position?
