Omg omg omg. I have been dealing with this same sh*t for 15 years now. One doc says uti the next says bv yeast infection. The first 10 yrs they all just gave me antibiotics which exacerbated the yeast problem. Then once they actually tested me everything came back negative. Still in agony. I figured it was processed foods sugars and acidic foods cause i feel it immediately. The only time I felt awesome was for 6 mths I ate clean and walked like 30-50 miles a wk. gotta get back to that and c if it works

I have had the same symptoms. It is some type of sugar allergy. I suffered for 8 years until I made up my mind to lay off of sugar. I suffered with severe itching. The only way I controlled it was by abstaining from sugar in any form. It took about 2 weeks to clear up. If i lapse and eat sweets it will come back. When I lay off the sugar it goes away. Hope this helps. Just wish there were a home remedy for the itching

I used to have regular bouts of vaginal itching until I went vegan about 7 years ago and gave up eating all animal products. I am convinced that it was the dairy that was giving me these issues. I have felt great all this time. A neighbor gave me a loaf of asiago cheese bread over the weekend as a gift, and while i normally would have not eaten anything with cheese, I decided to just go for it since it was a gift, blah blah blah... Well, now since Monday I've got this itching again. No discharge, just itching. Annoying. I would recommend giving up dairy at least for a little while to see if that helps. I can't remember how long it took for me to feel better, but as I said, I had not had this problem for years since quitting dairy.

For six months I suffered from intense vaginal irritation. My doctor prescribed Premarin and it did help, but after a few days it became part of the problem.  I did not have a yeast infection. I was given antibiotics and yeast inffection medicine, but it had no effect. The pain was terrible. One day by total happenstance I saw an article in a newspaper doctor's column where a woman was telling him of this same issue and said she had found great relief with the simple product aloe vera jel found in many stores. I found it in a Food Lion stone in a large bottle. It is green.  It only takes a little. It dries quickly and is ordorless.  For me, it was and is a miracle. The relief was immediate and with daily use I am pain free.  It is worth a try for anyone with this condition.  The cost is right, the application is simple and the relief is real.  keep us the usual habits of cotton underwear with no heavy seam, no soap on the private parts, cleanliness after using the toilet, and no tight pants with a seam in that area. I hope it gives you the same results it gave me! Eileen.

I have been suffering from the inexplicable vaginal burning for a year and a half. It seemed to come after a bacterial vaginosis infection that required four rounds of antibiotics to go away (I researched and finally discovered your body needs enough vitamin D to heal these types of infections, so I began taking a supplement in addition to the final round of antibiotic - it finally went away). Following the BV infection, I was under extreme stress. I believe it was this combination of an infection, multiple rounds of antibiotics, and insane stress that set off the chronic burning. I've been to a number of specialty doctors (ob/gyn, urogynecologist, dermatologist, allergist, naturopath, vulvadynia specialist) and have tried many, many remedies. I am finally starting to feel better and occasionally get flare ups...here is what I discovered:
-ACCUPUNCTURE! It is the only thing that has made my symptoms completely go away. The only thing. It's a Godsend. I wish I had found it sooner. I wasn't a believer when I walked in, but I was willing to try anything at that point. The acupuncturist I went to studied in China and practices Chinese accupuncture. I'm not even sure if that matters, but I would recommend this type because it worked for me. I found her on Angie's List and read reviews before going in. It's not cheap and I had to go in three times a week for two weeks, then two times a week, now I'm on one time a week.
-FOOD has a big impact on how I feel that particular day. Coffee does not agree with "down there". When I do drink it, I take a couple Prelief pills (recommended by the urogynecologist - you can find them at a Wlagreens type store in the acid relief over the counter section. Not all stores have it). Prelief neutralizes the acidity. Also, I believe some nightshade vegetables cause flare ups (apparently they have a natural toxin in them). Potatoes in particular seem to bother me. The way I had to identify the food culprits was by doing an elimination diet. Finally, the allergist noted that I have a sensitivity to corn. I have definitely noticed the burning returns when I eat corn products.
-STRESS. I used to think stress was the go to cause to everyone's woes. I've been under stress before, why is it just now causing vaginal burning? As I mentioned above, I think the combination of an infection, tons of antibiotics, and stress put my body in a very unbalanced, sensitive, and susceptible state. Things that wouldn't normally bother me, do. Small amounts of stress today cause a flare up. I try to take deep breaths, meditate, and generally stay away from activities that cause me stress.

Eventually, I think I'll get back to a point where my body can handle small amounts of mental and physical stress as well as be able to eat corn, coffee, etc (foods that stress my body). Right now my body is still rebuilding and rebalancing, so I'll do what I can to avoid throwing it out of whack again.

Finally, now when I get a flare up I do the following:
-Rinse with water following urination
-Use Vagisil for one night to calm my irritated skin
-Drink room temperature Oolong Tea (recommended by my acupuncturist). Room temp because otherwise your body has to use energy to cool down hot tea or warm up cold tea. The energy should be used to heal you, not bring your drink to body temp.

*Also, birth control pills and the Nuva Ring made my symptoms a million times worse. From what I understand, hormonal imbalances can contribute to this issue as well.

**And I almost forgot. TOILET PAPER! I can only use chlorine-free toilet paper. You can find it at Whole Foods. I buy the Seventh Generation brand.

I hope this helps someone!!

I am battlelng this now and I think I’ve narrowed it down to maybe caffeine or chocolate and I’ve been under a lot of stress. So I just change my eating and cut that out and it will go away? It’s so irritating especially when you’ve never had an issue down there.
