This is what I think too. I've had the same thing happen to me for a long time way before I got on birth control. I Just now decided to look it up but I was never really worried about it because I thought it was probably just normal vaginal cleansing. Anyway, I haven't talked to my doctor about it. It's weird but obviously not that weird since so many of us are experiencing it.

This theory is good, but maybe not correct. I don't use tampons, only pads and I'm having the same problem

I called my ob today and talked to the nurse. They said it could be a bacterial infection so I'll be taking meds for a week and if it doesn't stop I have to go back in. I let yall know if it doesn't work what they say.

I've had the same thing and found this:

Having a daily vaginal discharge even after you start having periods is normal. You will continue to have vaginal discharge throughout most of your adult life. Changing levels of hormones in the female's body causes vaginal discharge. This fluid helps keep the vagina clean and healthy.

Vaginal discharge will vary throughout your cycle. Some days it may be wet and liquidy, other days it may be thick and ropey, or you may find it to be thin and slightly sticky to thick and gooey. The color can be clear to white or off-white. You will find the amount of discharge may vary daily also.

If you do not like the way the discharge feels and/or you want to protect your undies, try wearing a pantiliner each day. The pantiliner will absorb the vaginal discharge and help you feel fresh and dry.

Thank you so much, I'm 15 years old and this just happened to me, I completely soaked through my tampon and when I took it out, there was barely any blood on it, it was soaked with a clear watery liquid. I thought something was wrong with me, I even looked up symptoms of TSS. It's a relief to know that's not the case and that it's perfectly normal. Again, thank you so much, this was extremely helpful for me.

I have this problem and just stumbled across an article which states that it has proven to be entrapped bath water for some individuals!! I am a regular bather and I think this really could be the cause for me. I am quite relieved, as this also could be a cause of my regular cystitis.

I talked with my doctor (Gyn/reproductive endocrinologist) about this yesterday. I am on a low level progesterone birth control pill and apparently if you don't have enough progesterone to keep the endometrial lining intact, it will prematurely slough with the clear liquid/bright red blood in it. The previous few months I had what looked like old endometrial tissue in my periods which points to an incomplete sloughing. He recommends going to a higher dose pill, but that it's nothing to be alarmed about.

I experienced the same thing and here is what I have found. It is cervical mucus. Your body's discharge changes throughout your cycle and can help you to know when you are most fertile. Although it's a natural thing it can be quite embarrassing when it gushes like that but I will say when I rush to the restroom while I'm out in public and panicking thinking "oh god I hope I don't have to tie a shirt around my waist and rush home" I'm thankful to see its not blood lol. Anyway we are normal and nothing is wrong with us here is the webpage below to read for yourself as reassurance ladies.. Sorry it's not a link lol just copy and paste :) hope this helps

For anyone wondering what this may be, I am pretty sure I figured this out. I had the same issue for about a year, along with other issues (fatigue, getting colds alot, moodiness, etc). Turned out I have hashimotos and was hypothyroid at the time. The lack of thyroid hormones was effecting my sex hormones.

Once I got on thyroid hormone the problem went away.

I've experienced the same thing for almost every period I've had. I'm in my mid twenties, never been pregnant, not on any birth control.

I am 17 years old and this has JUST a happened to me. I did not realize that my shorts were wet until I went to the bathroom this morning. When I took my shorts down I was thinking, "oh great, my period soaked through" which NEVER happens to me. But when I saw that there was just wetness and not blood, I was scared that I peed myself. When I took my tampon out, it was SOAKED with a clear liquid. I took my shorts off and they did not smell like pee, but the same acid-y idea. I ran to my bed and found no wet spot.

It could just be part of your period. When the endometrium dissolves, it doesn't always dissolve into a uniformly red liquid. Sometimes folks have clots or chunks of solid tissue. Sometimes folks get a clear serum. And sometimes if it's very thin and/or if a tampon hasn't expanded appropriately for one's anatomy, the fluid can flow past without the tampon soaking all of it up.
