Hi there my son whom is now 2.5 yrs old is suffering from constipation.
About 16 months ago we had the same problem - tried lots of different things, and was also given Coloxyl Oral Drops, which has an expiry of 06.09 my q is if it has been open for that long - can it still be used until expiry, it doesn't say anything about once opened used within ---.

Problem which can cause expired medications are various. First of all they don’t work anymore what they supposed to do, in your case to help with constipation. Second they can cause sickness and sometimes even vomiting. So don’t play with old medications and instead of that throw them away.
Since you need new prescription it is best to visit your doctor again. I am aware that you must be tired of going all the time at the doctor’s office because your son is suffering from constipation but this is the price you must pay for loving your child.
By now you have probably resolved your concerns about expired medications and hopefully situation with the constipation is over as well.
