I'm a 20 year old girl who is taking Birth control for PCOS symptoms. And now I have recently become sexually active.
I'm kinda confused about the pill a little bit. I'm on Diane 35, and it is licenced as a Birth Control, should I be concerned as it is also used for acne etc...is it a good enough Birth Control?
One other thing. During the 7 days when I'm not to take the pill so I get my period, during this time is it safe to have sex? (if I wanted to) I worry cause people say if you miss 3 days of the pill and you have un protected sex you could get pregnant....well wouldn't that be the same case when stopping the pill to get your period? I know you ovulate after your period, but I'm just confused about that statement.
I just want to know when are the safe times to have un protected sex? and when shouldn't I. I have only one commited partner, I'm not sleeping around, just with one trusting person, we have been having unprotected sex, but if need be I will make him wear a condom. I just don't want to get pregnant this early on so I want to take precautions.
Any advice would be great!

Hi CG: Depending on how long you have been on Diane - less than 2 months, use a condom - more than 2 months - no worries! ALL BCP has the same outcomes, they are just used for certain things - due to their individual cocktails of hormones! If I were you and wanted to have sex during my period, I would have my bf wear a condom - just because! I think it's ALWAYS a good idea to have the man wear a condom - to stop ANY chance of STD/STI and becoming pregnant! If you have double the protection, there will be 0 worries right? And here's to great skin!!!! ;-) XD I heard it works miracles for the skin!!! Does this help you at all!? Hope so!

Thank you Bambi,
I'm going to talk to the Boyfriend tonight about the Condom issue. I'm sure he will be fine with it, but I just want to make sure I'm safe....I know he is clean, but I really don't want to be pregnant this early on!!
As for the skin,
It helps I don't have acne, but becasue of the Poly Cystic stuff, I have to remove some hair from my face almost daily, so having sensiitve skin, and having to do that, isn't fun so I do get some skin issues, but its ok.

There's this product - I CAN'T remember the name of it, it is ALWAYS advertised they show young women holding it and rotating it over their arms and legs - do you know what I'm talking about?! It's called Epi something !!! Anyways it REALLY works, my girlfriends who are in the "change" swear by it, and it's great for sensitive! It has like a felt on one side and when you rotate it over the skin it buffs it off! Go to your local pharmacy and have a looksee to see if you can get some! Your problems are EXACTLY why I say God HAS to be a man!!!! ;-) XD A woman would never do that to another woman!!! XD MAKE him use a condom!!!! "No Cover, No Lover!"

I actually bought a couple different sizes of those buffers, they do work, I used it on my legs, and what I could reach on my back etc...I hate the hair issues. but it causes me to get really red and break out if I use it on my face. I will try it again, but I used it a while ago and thats what happened. Almost like a minor burn from the effect of the rough sand paper type stuff.
