Hey, I'm doing great thanks. I'm 25 weeks now, baby is doing brilliantly and I have experienced no complications (thankfully). As for your question, I really don't know. I was 14 when it started, I blamed my problems solely on birth control. My mum and sister both had problems with heavy bleeding, but never persistent bleeding like mine, so I put my problems down to birth control. If you haven't even tried birth control then who knows whether that was truly the cause. I would certainly suggest staying away from birth control, it's likely to only make your problems worse. As for alternatives I really can't help, I was put on tranexamic acid to try and make my bleeding stop which not only didn't really work but isn't a long term solution. If I were you, I'd insist on more tests and leave birth control as a last resort (and when you might actually need it for other reasons!). Hope this helps, let me know if anything changes!

Hello, I have experienced the same thing constant bleeding for 8 months now, was seen by 3 different doctors and they said everything looked good. Went to a 4th doctor today and she saw a 3mm size laceration on my uterine wall. Was hard to find and now have to go in for a small surgery. Doctor said it couldn't heal on own because of the constant tampons everyday and intercourse. Hope thing post helps someone else out

I have ovarian cysts and that causes me to bleed very irregular. I bled for 6 months straight and no doctor could find out why. I started taking iron and vitamin c because I knew j was prolly getting low on blood by this time. And I started taking magnesium supplements. My bleeding has finally stopped for almost 2 weeks now. Always ask your doctor before starting a vitamin regimen. This is definitely worth a try if you have struggled like me. Read up on how low magnesium and low iron affect your period see if that fits you

How many have had the Depo shot? I'm 25, have a 5 year old and a 10 month baby. Since my youngest has been born, I've been bleeding since. So I haven't stopped since I delivered her. Now when I was late on my shot, with my oldest I would bleed till I went for the shot. I'm sick of it. I enjoy love with my husband, and that's difficult and upsetting at time when there is no intercorse. So how many have had the Depo shot??????

I've been having this problem off and on since my first period at 13! It's been 23 years! I've looked it up, I've asked doctors, I'm negative for everything! I haven't had a lot of partners, successfully has 2 kids, no diseases, thin as a rail, very healthy lifestyle, none of the "warning signs". In the last couple years it's been worse... At least 2 periods a month and sometimes it doesn't end for months. I'm anemic, always have been. Thin blood runs in my family but not thin enough to explain this. It isn't particularly heavy, just constant. No pain at all, I've never had pms or period symptoms besides bleeding.

Unfortunately I HAVE insurance so I don't qualify for anything afordable to figure this out further than simple tests which cost me a fortune! Its happened despite the pill in many forms, the birth control shot, iud, norplant, and no birth control (all at separate times of course).

I just know I will die of this eventually! I'm so tired of bleeding and always having to wear black! I hope one of you figures out why before I bleed to death!

****If you don't want to read my lOng post. VITAMIN D3 stopped my on going bleeding (dysfunctional uterine bleeding) of one straight year. It took about 2-3 weeks of continuous daily intake of 10,000 IU (two soft gel pills)*****

I bled straight for 1 year and became severely anemic. I felt like I was literally bleeding to death. My blood count was so low that I was on watch for congestive heart failure and transfustion. In addition my fibroids tripled and my hormones were so unbalanced.

I was /am in pain everyday and some day, I truthfully just wish to end it. I have no insurance and paid out of pocket to viso health clinics that have no answers. I checked into the ER so many times it became redundant. I just got more lerscriptions upon perscriptions and a diagnosis of "we dont know whats wrong"

I signed up for studies, desperate for some kind of help, even if it was experimental. Lord have mercy I Googled until I ran out of things to search. All I kept hearing was hysterectomy and prescriptions, try this birth control etc.. but at 31 yrs old, those weren't good options.

About 2 months ago I tried to tackle this problem from another perspective. I focused on balancing my hormones first. While searching for powders, foods that will help, I came across a forum similiar to this. In fact I was searching for that forums to post some updated info and saw your post.

In that forums A woman posted about Vit D deficiency and how treating it it stopped her bleeding. Then there were several women who took her advice and over different time frames, it stopped theirs too. So I thought to give it a shot.

After about 2 weeks of taking 2-3) Vitamin D3 soft gel pills at 5,000 IU each daily. The bleeding started to lessen and after a month it stopped. I am on month two and some days I might see a spot of something but I have not bleed.

I was also very inconsistent this month so I need to go back to my daily intake.

I also know that ironically bleeding causes anemia...and anemia causes bleeding. NO matter how much iron I took, I couldn't regenerate more red-blood cells as quick as I was bleeding out.

I'm still a little weak but first time TWO years (prolonged menstrual then full on bleeding for year), I do not have foggy brain, I don't speak in rambles and on some days I have good energy.

I also figured that I might as well combine everything at once and keep going.

I atmosphere 100% certain that the vit d3 stopped my bleeding.

Trying to fix everything at once and hoping to restore my health, I also take vit A and Iron. I take my iron with vit C (non synthetic). In the mornings I mix molases with lemon or lime , add dash of cayenne pepper (known to stop bleeding) with warm water and drink it. I try to incorporate apple cider vinegar (braggs) into my food.

I know vit k helps with the absorption of vit d however I did not take it. I strictly took VitD3 to stop the bleeding.

I hope this helps, it is the most frustrating thing to go through! I had so many prescription pills that I thought I was going to overdose. So I quit cold turkey and sought natural alternatives. It makes no sense to fruther disrupt your body with harsh drugs and make your fight that much harder.

My goals for this month to increase energy , blood count, reduce pain, reduce insomnia and balance hormones.

1. Continue taking Vit D3

Continue drinking 3 glasses of my molasses cayenne pepper and lemon/lime mixture
To increase iron, detox/purify, hormone balance (red mecca powder)

Drink only alkaline water (easiest method is to add lemon to your water) at least 1/2 gal

Take nutiva hemp oil daily (available on amazon for $15 for excellent source of omega 3,6,9 and when used topically it reverses the damages done to my skin during my sick years

Start stretching / light walks for blood circulation . Be careful if you are anemic.
