I still think I had LCM .. It all started with swelling in my neck and head.. felt cranial plates cracking like nuckles.. lasted 3 weeks and then started attacking my abdomen.. had pancreatitis.. arthritis.. allergies.. other joint pain.. What is the exact test for Chron's? Why haven't they even mentioned it too me? I have read someone with IBS that ended up with it after LCM... I don't feel Im hypochondriac at all.. Just looking for the answer.

I often think I get away with myself occasionally when it comes to my health and think I may, possibly, could have a slight bit of hypochondria.  I apologize for painting you with the same brush as myself.

How long ago did you get the pancreatitis?  It hasn't been chronic has it?  Lymph Chorio doesn't seem so "out there" as to warrant a laugh from the doctor if you were around mouse droppings and developed pancreatitis in conjunction with your other symptoms, certainly.  Just briefly looking it up it says roughly 5% of mice in the US are infected.

My guess is in the blood tests they have given you they would have tested for Crohn's.  They also would have detected it in a colonoscopy if one has been done.

i just got a clean bill of health two weeks ago from my colonoscopy. I've been reading on the crohn's.. it makes some sense that some part of my small intestine has changed density.. less pliable maybe.. thats what the vibrations from the phone make me feel like.. On the lymph chorio .. i didn't even come up with that untill two years into my ordeal.. i had not even been telling the doctors that i had symptoms of some freakish origin in my head and neck area.. i really thought i was going into shock on a few occasions.. Pancreatitis was observed once in the months following initial attack of whatever got me.. symptoms have never gone away.. I have had pancreas tests 4 or 5 times since then and all is normal there.. I've been looking at my CT scan.. since my colon came back looking fine.. i assume its my small intestine.. it does look like there is a bunch of small intestine packed into just where I'm feeling my issue.. It feels like a foot or so of it has hardened and the rest of the stuff around it isn't so happy.. anyhow.. thanks for making me look at crohn's again..

I'm glad to hear that your colonoscopy and pancreas tests are coming back clean. I suppose then we're back to that same old question then.......what the heck IS wrong then!?!

I fear after these antibiotics have run their course on me that I will be back in that situation with you. If there is one thing of which I am certain it is that if you stick to it and test every rational hypothesis that an answer will be found. Hopefully that answer is one that many others have had to come up with as well so that the pros will have had time to come up with the ways to make us better I suppose.

Just wondering after 6 years, if you found a solution. You describe me to a T. Many tests, no solutions for me.

Hi Folks - I have been suffering from belching & bloating for about a year.  It started out with some simple spells of burping, but has escalated to daily, and burps have become loud belches. I have developed dark circles around my eyes as well, which I've been told (and read) is a symptom of digestive issues.

I love sugar, and have noticed of late an increase in discomfort when I've consumed a lot of it.  I decided to go sugar free for a few days to see if it resulted in any improvement.  I am on my second day, and although it's still early in the day, I seem ok.

Today I go for a Candida blood test.  I have asked my doctor for it, as I, like you, have been trying to self diagnose due to doctors inability to determine the cause of my issues.  As much as I'm happy that all tests (CT Scan, HPoli blood test, Celiac etc) all come back negative, I am at the same time disappointed, as a diagnosis is what I want more than anything.  As Joe mentions, it's all about knowing the enemy.

Anyway, I think you should consider Candida as a possible diagnosis. I will report back once I get the results.

All:

Here is an interesting article from Chris Kresser regarding Bacterial Overgrowth and Heartburn, Acid Reflux, GERD.
Basically, he recommends minimizing your intake of sugars, starches and grains. That is something I'm trying to do now (because I also have a problem with belching after eating, but only with certain foods, like sugar, fruits, raw salads). Strangely enough, I can eat something greasy and salty and I don't have the buildup of gas in my upper chest.

My ordeal with this problem is a day to day problem that is alternatively bad and manageable, depending on how much or what I've eaten. I have also begun taking Vitamin D supplements (prescription, because I was diagnosed with a deficiency) and liquid Vitamin B complex, because I am primarily vegetarian. And Vitamin B deficiency is cited for digestive issues.

Here is that article:

Have you looked into a possible candida/yeast/fungal infection?
Sugar can be feeding the yeast, then the problem keeps getting worse.
Belching, constipation, fatigue, etc...

I have the same problem but apart from the belching the pressure makes me feel so ill. I've had all sorts of theories but my latest has produced best results. The only time I've seen this constant formation of gas (I can belch continuously for hours) was when I brewed my own beer. Sugar added to yeast. I decided I must have a problem of sibo (small bowel over growth) I decided to cut out as much sugar from my diet as I could and so far results are fantastic. Plus I feel a lot healthier and don't pick as much. When I started checking the sugar content of foods I was eating I was horrified. Even so called health food is loaded. Hope this helps someone.

Hello, I have no idea if you are still struggling with this since this was posted over a year ago, but I felt the need to reply because I am almost certain what it causing your pain because I have had the same exact symptoms, diagnosed it and treated it.

First off it is important to know that I suffer from IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) but about 3 years ago my stomach got ridiculously out of hand. I would have these deep deep belches that came from the core of my gut and often these would last several seconds. My stomach at night would roll with gas feeling quite volcanic and I would toss and turn for hours on end belching and farting out gas that would keep reproducing. I was exhausted all the time, and then I started getting these horrible flair ups once a month in which my digestive system would become so gasy and irritated and painful that I would stop eating for a few days. These symptoms went on for about 6 months and then one month I had a flair up that lasted nearly 2 weeks. After being so sick I couldn't eat for 12 days, my mom decided (I was still in high school at the time of this) that we had to get answers and start treating whatever was making me so ill.

Due to my constant stomach issues, which runs in the family, I have learned to turn to a much more natural form of meditation. Often times in Western medical tests I show as absolutely normal, but it is clear that I am quite sick. I don't have any food allergies so everytime I take a blood test I would turn up clear, but I had noticed that eating carbs and especially sugar would cause my digestion to practically shut down.

After a lot of research and finding a natural path doctor- I finally had a diagnosis: candida infection of the intestines. In laymans terms I had an overgrowth of yeast in my large intestines. Yeast has essentially hijacked my gut and was stealing the nutrients my body needs while simultaneously growing and reproducing in my intestinal tract causing a lot of toxic waste (mostly in the form of gas) to be created. Yeast thrives off of carbs and sugars and also estrogen, and my monthly cycle was what caused my horrible flair ups as my estrogen level soared.

To treat it I went on a no carb diet for about 6 months and also took supplements that killed the yeast. It was a hard and challenging treatment that required a ton of self control, but after 6 months of being so sick I finally started to improve and feel like myself again.

Recent research of the gut is continuing to discover that more and more of our issues come from bacteria imbalances and overgrowth in the gut. If you are still struggling with these symptoms I would definitely encourage you to look into Candida Overgrowth. It's a lot more common than people realize and most definitely treatable.
